82K miles on my 2007 XK. I had the 19" Carelia wheels refinished a couple of weeks ago in a dark grey metallic powder coat. That resulted in a big difference in the car's appearance.
I am now working on replacing the coolant system hoses and the coolant reservoir on the right side of the car. Last year I did the hoses on the left side and top of the engine including the valley hose that required removing the intake manifold. The little hose which connects the coolant reservoir to the aluminum piping that leads to the cabin heater core was looking a bit weird - a little bead of dried coolant seemed to be coming out of the end of the rubber hose. Maybe that was the cause of the slight whiff of coolant that could be smelled from time to time.
As Ranchero50 previously reported, the new coolant reservoir has a 200 KPa cap (29 psi). Do the newer XK actually have a 200 Kpa cap on the system? If yes, no wonder the engine coolant pump is failing so rapidly. I will reinstall the original cap rated at 120 KPa (17 psi).
I had bought the engine coolant pump, serpentine belt, idler pulley and tensioner pulley; but am not sure whether to put forth the effort required to replace those right now. I might wait another year to do those... During cold winter months something is making a noise which goes away after the engine warms up, so my thought is that one of the pulleys has a slight amount of excessive clearance.
I'm going to replace all the plastic housing very soon and I've wondering where/who has these parts for a fair price.
thanks.
Used mobile 1 5-30, purchased at Walmart for $25@5qt., later that afternoon I was in Lowes and they had the same oil for $34.95. (I guess they factor in the 30% discount that is offered to contractors)

Good price - just paid $59.99 Canadian for 5 litres of Castrol Edge at Canadian Tire....Grrrr
Today was a very good day. Installed my new steering wheel…ordered on eBay, came from Poland…looks and feels great! My indy, Dougherty Automotive did the annual lubrication service and PA State Inspection. He also fired up his Autologic and was able to activate my rear camera…one check in the CCF to enable and it was done…no need for SDD!
I did the same. I seem to be copying you on Style Ed. I have two of the black integrated control panels and can't for the life of me remember how I acquired the second one:-) Does anyone know if the black face plates are from a specific year?

Mine came from a 2015…Pacific Motors had a wrecked 2015 XKR and I got the wheels and tires, infotainment buttons and seat controls along with the piano black trim surround and ashtray cover…

Installed my “keep it simple” Apple Play system. After much contemplation, rather than installing any of the Apple Play interfaces, did the following:
- installed Invery Bluetooth to IPod adapter.
- bought a refurbished iPad mini from Amazon for $149. Had to make sure to buy the version with cellular in order to get gps, even though I won’t get a cellular plan for it.
- installed the iPad using a “Wiley’s CD Slot Tablet Holder”.
This solved my biggest issues:
- wanted to use inRoute navigation to be able to set up routes. But, if I use it on my phone, the audio from the phone to the Jag radio sucks, and viewing navigation on the small iPhone or Jag screen is hard with my Septuagenarian eyeballs.
- didn’t want to rip apart and screw up the OEM radio
- wanted to be able to use and see some of the Apple apps.
Downsides:
- I’ll remove and hide it when parked so some tweaker doesn’t damage my car to steal it.
- it blocks the temp up & down buttons, as well as the fan speed button. But I can still get to them.
i still have my iPhone paired to the Jag radio for phone calls. And if I ever need network connectivity to the iPad I can use my iPhone hotspot.
taking a road trip next week. I’ll report back later on how it worked out.
In a similar fashion with XKdreams I installed a portable Carplay/Android unit, CARPURIDE W609, small enough to fit between the side panels of the console, above the ashtray. They even sent me a firmware with the startup logo of my choice! I mount it with a diy 3d printed ashtray holder to adapt to the included mount, but at first I had stack a magnet mount in the original ashtray, and it was ok. I had the wires going to the glovebox power outlet since my cigar outlet mysteriously doesn't work and I can't find out why! Eventually, I hardwired to fuse 23 (driver's side panel) a 12V to 5V / 3A converter with 2 usb outputs via a plug for both the CARPURIDE & a MEE transmitter (see below, since the W609 doesn't have a bt transmitter, receiver only), which I tucked in the ashtray as an all-in-one unit.
The pros: Maintain OEM design and function adding modern tech; Set & forget setup.
The flaws: When I drive, hand at 3 o'clock, my arm hides the left 1/4 part of the screen, so I switched carplay to RHD mode to have easy view of the sidebar; it's pretty low on the dash, distracting when driving. The later is of course an issue with all modern "screen" operated cars.
AUX Audio via Bluetooth & Portable Carplay / Android Auto
The AUX options are well documented and the lack there off for MY2011+.
I opted for using a Bluetooth Receiver paired with a Bluetooth Transmiter.
Bt Receiver: BOVEE 1000 at the ipod port in center console, Audio Mode to Portable audio / iPod. (well documented here in the forums).
Bt Transmiter: Mee Audio Connect.
I tried and failed with several before this, mainly because of auto-power-on and auto pairing. Though there is a simpler version at Mee Audio, I only have tested this successfully and recommend it. BTW, I bought it used (since I was experimenting) and its internal battery didn't hold a charge, so I replaced it with one 5x the capacity! Plug a 3.5mm audio cable on its back and a 3.5mm male or rca if you wish to the other end. It needs 5V mini USB power. It pairs easy to the BOVEE and if you have it plugged to a 12V to 5V cigarette lighter adapter, upon ignition it will charge it's internal battery and work flawlesly even without power for a while (practically, it just keeps the bt connection longer and helps at reconnect). The audio quality is very good, near CD, even supports AptX and far better any FM transmitter (which I tried as well). It is of course limited by the source, in my case Spotify via iPhone BT and the end, the amp+speakers are subpar for a car like this. You may use it for a GVIF installation (with a 12V to 5V adapter)
You may also spot my OBD2 gauge, under the dash, a small and cheap Wiiyii on a custom angle bracket, held by friction between the under the steering panel & the console. You can find it in
fro $35 or https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803898718873.htmlfor under $20! I taped the top of the screen only to see Coolant Temp & Battery Voltage through the steering wheel.

I finally got round to replacing the non-oem black carpets with original Jaguar matching warm charcoal carpets. A small thing but satisfying.
Weirdly, the phone camera makes it look like the carpets don't match but to the naked eye they do.
Me being me, I'll be taking them out and putting the cheap ones back anyway for the winter. Don't want to get mud on them.

When I bought my XK, I was aware that the back box had been deleted. However as time went on, those loud pipes got increasingly loud, to the point of being obnoxious.
Took it to my local specialist for some work (needed new brake pads anyway) and getting under the car made me realise how badly the job had been done - Either this was done as an interim solution to a stolen box (cat theft) or whoever owned the car before me, despite probably paying a lot of money, wanted to delete the box on the cheap. I also felt around and identified a hole....
Taking the exhaust off shows just how big that hole was, and the quality of the so-called 'welding'. An Adamesh Stage 1 exhaust has solved the issue, and got her growling away in a more pleasing manner
Anyone know whether I could detatch the oval exhaust trims?
