#$@&%ing Fuel Filter
I decided to change out my fuel filter today. I was making a movie and everything! I bought the new filter, got the car up on the ramps, looked at the old filter that was installed, and I could tell that this filter wasn't the right one. This one has a nut on each end to which the fuel line is supposed to screw. The one in the car has no nuts on it. Instead it has a nipple at each end and the fuel line slides over the nipples and clamps down. I went online to advanceautoparts.com and the picture for my filter looks exactly like what they sold me. BUT IT'S NOT RIGHT!
Here's the one Advance sold me:
So, 25 minutes to the parts store, 10 minutes in the store, and 25 minutes back home were completely wasted.
Does anyone know where to get the correct filter with the nipples on each end?

As I recall, the one on my 2000 was a wrench off, just like the one you were sold and just like the ones in the Rock Auto pictures. I bought mine at the local O'Reilly's parts store - no big deal.
You, however, apparently have the pressure release type. I wonder how that happened. Anyway, it should be a simple interchange for a good parts store, they are not special filters...
Good luck!

Had to check!
I bought a filter a year ago on one of Advance's super sales for about $10 if I remember correctly. Purolator F65277.
Looks just like the picture in the second post. Hope the one in the car looks like it!
Advance has their reoccurring 'buy $100, get $50 back' promo going if anyone is interested. I must have saved $200 so far this year on that deal.
Jaguar never was very precise on their changes within model years.

Do you have the line remover? If not get one, I think it is a 5/8. (Fuel line quick disconnect tool)
