Default 6 degrees or less?

This is the coldest weather I've been in with any of my cars; for those in the colder climates, how does the Jag do in these conditions?

Hi.

Strange winter. I have +8C (46F). Normally -10C (15F) to -20C (-4F).

No problems with Jags in the cold.
Tips:
- Have a good battery. If you do short trips only, get a trickle charger.
- Clean battery posts to ensure you have good contact.
- Oil viscosity, normally not a problem with synthetic oil.
- Winter tires a must when slippery.
- A couple of sandbags in the trunk give you more traction.

Default my first winter with my XKR

This is my first winter with my XKR, and today's temperature is -17F(-27C).

My XKR is not my daily driver, and I intend to keep it in the garage most of the winter- only taking it out for maintenance work as needed. It hasn't been started in a couple of weeks, but it will be going into the shop tomorrow night for new wheels and tires (summer performance tires). I am anxious to see how it starts after this cold spell.

Well it's 12 F this morning and mine is a daily driver. The dogs don't even what to go out this morning! Well I guess I will take the truck and leave the kitty in the cat house. Don't want to hear her moan, groan, and show her age.

Min has been in the garage since November. Yesterday it was -27F with wind chill of -45F. I've got my Jeep to dash through the snow. Winter is just too long though. I've got a good battery and it's on a maintainer, so I'm not worried.

9 degrees here this morning and no problems with my Ram pickup. Just returned from my refreshing early-morning hike at the local state park with one of our dogs. I'm a polar bear so I love this weather. Wore my usual short-sleeve T-shirt and sweatpants and after my six-mile hike, my shirt was sweat-soaked as always. The back of my hair had frozen up with sweat-dripped icicles. I wish we would get some sub-zero temps here but that looks unlikely this time....

Enjoy this weather while you can....

It's been colder than normal here in SLC. I keep a battery tender hooked up to the XK8 because it's parked under a carport. I usually don't drive in the winter because of the salty roads but I did take it out last week to run errands. It started right up on the the first try.

Default afraid of salty wintrer roads

I considered taking my XKR out just now and again in the winter, but then I came across this thread- I am now scared to death that this is already happening to my car because I already took it out only once!

No better, no worse than any other car. 6* below F is pretty routine stuff here, nobody thinks anything of it.

Especially the XKR - Nothing like chilled intake air for more power!

was 18F when I left for work this AM - no white stuff or ice on the ground (of course normally doesn't get below 30's in January around here) - cat started right up and drove like a charm (she sits outside at night as garage is over run with the remains of a closed business)

Not as cold here. 19F yesterday morning and low 20's this morning. The good news is there's no snow.

Mine is a daily driver and it does have a garage it sleeps in, but no problems so far other than a few new squeaks from the interior. That dash loves to make noise in the cold.

Now if I had just changed out the heat pump when it was a little warmer, my life would be good. Still works about 1/2 strength if I just use the floor vents.

Here in northern england it was 12c today. I took advantage and drove with the top down.

How rare for the uk to be better off weather wise. I'm normally green with envy at your weather.

Keep Warm
