Default 97 XK8 Ignition coil jack/connector

I've searched but cannot find the part # for the ignition coil jack, mine is cracked and not making a good connection. Any suggestions for a supplier in the US?

There have been several threads covering this, so try using the search. The two wire plugs are rare. One technique is to slip the connectors on then use RTV to seal them.

I was able to use wire ties to secure them as another option.

I've decided to solder them. Why not? Solder melts at 370 degrees, and it's much less mess and a sure connection. Use shrink tubing to cover the butt connections and done.

I found what you need. O'Reilly Auto Parts PT2045, GM 88988587. I didn't use the barrel connectors that came with the packet, instead I soldered the connectors and used heat shrink. I have a 1997 XK8 convertible. Hope this helps.

copyman01, I looked the part up, but couldn't tell. Have you found a replacement for the broken connectors that plug into the ingition coil?

I had to special order the part from OReilly. Yes, it's the connector that connects the wiring harness the the coils.

Glad to help. If you have any problem let me know. OReilly has a huge distribution center next to my office and I can put you in touch with a employee who can order it for you. I still have the original paperwork so looking up the part shouldn't be a problem.
