Default Back on the road again...

Back on the road again...

I have repeated this one line way too many times this year, 😭

- First it was front suspension problems. After installing URO mounts and then replacing them with Wayne mounts 1 month later.

- Then water leaks 💦, water pump, thermostat housing, then hoses under manifold 💦 then last time spider hose 💦.

I decided to give myself a break from all the breakdowns and replace every water hose left on the car.

Every hose left, that was changed on the last few days. Hopefully the car will be leak free for a few months.

Wrapped a few parts of the spider hose close to exhaust manifold

I have probably replaced all those hoses at one time or another but not all at once.
Great pic of the amount of hoses/work involved!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found that when I did a similar complete renewal of the cooling+heating+suspension+fuel+brake systems on one of my other older classic vehicles, it suddenly became reliable.

For those of us contemplating doing to same, you don't happen to have a list of the:
-
Part_# Hose_Name Vendor_Name Part_URL Price
-
for all these hoses?

I'll try to put together a listing of all the hoses and add to my posting. FYI my car is a 2003 4.2 liter, 4.0 could have different part numbers. Also your car is (XKR) Supercharged so my listing might not help you.

Well like many here I replaced a hose here and there when either a small leak developed, while replacing other parts or working in an area that I'm not planning to go back to anytime soon. So far that's been working out pretty well so changing all my hoses doesn't make sense because many have already been replaced.
However, if you could provide a list of the hoses and part numbers that would be a huge help for 4.2L owners like myself. I figure over the next 10 years of ownership I'll end up replacing whatever hoses are still needing to be replaced. By my calculations once I have them all changed I will start replacing the ones I have already changed lol.
It's like the circle of life for a Jag.

Awesome job and to be honest, if I had to do it all over again your approach of changing them all at once makes the most sense. Bravo

Done deal thanks for sharing.
I don’t care for using chains to hang it maybe some para cord or coated cable? Might be safe but makes me nervous.

The light is very light weight and it comes with the hooks, chains and a few other minor pieces. I was looking for a work light and found this. Hooked it right up to the hood latches plugged it in and started working.

I put one on the floor when I did the rear shock mounts. Fixed it at a 45-degree angle and it did a great job. Just forward of the rear end.
Now, it did get in your eyes some, just needed to be moved a few inches.

Again, RagJag thanks for the idea here's my version. I'm still going to find a better way to hang it but this set up is a keeper.
