Default Bumper cover and splitter removal

I have removed the push pins holding the bumper covers. The covers don't seem to have enough clearance to be removed. Tried pulling the top out first but there is not enough clearance. Would it be easier to remove the bumper covers and the chrome splitter at the same time?

Thanks
Harry

Default Bumper cover removal

I just removed my bumper cover 2 days ago. It took about an hour once the car was jacked and had the front wheels off. It was a good opportunity the clean the crap out of the A/C condenser and clean all the road grunge off of everything. Peel back the inner fender liners and undo 3 bolts you can see above the side markers. 6 bolts you can see across the top of the rad with the hood up. Then undo all the screws across the bottom of the air dam.

I am repainting mine.

Harry - Are you referring to the two plastic over-rider covers that are in the front grill area or the actual bumper cover?

Please clarify and either way you should add your vehicle & model year to your signature so we know what year we are dealing with (as they are different).

Thanks!

Default bumper over-rider install -'03 XK8

I am having a hell of a time with the fir-fastener holding the bumper over-rider; pretty much destroyed the top and it hasn't moved but 3mm.
I have a new used cover I want to install to replace the cracked one someone backed into. I can see that access is unfettered with the bumper cover removed - but I REALLY don't want to get into that for fear I'm gonna break something - I have seen the various videos on doing that; looks gnarly. Thoughts?

When I removed my over riders I used a sharp Stanley blade to cut the tops off. Think there was one underneath holding the mesh on too which I drilled the centre out of slowly until the top just fell off.

Not much chance of getting them out for re-use imo.
