Default Comprehensive Component Monitor Test

I bought my 2002 Jaguar XKR a few months back knowing that it had failed smog check.
I have fixed all the problems I can find and currently had MIL off and no DTC but the Comprehensive Component Test always fails.
The one that always fails is Manufacturer Defined Test ID #0A and I am not sure what that means.
After searching everywhere, I found a reference in the document AJ27_EMS_OBDII.pdf
It says Test ID $0A is for EGR Flow Malfunction, but my EGR test has always passed so I don't think it is that.
Can anyone offer any advice on this issue?

My wife's car is a 2006 XK8. Here is how I get the Comprehensive Component Monitor to clear:

- Fuel level in the tank must be between 30% and 85%.
- Start engine from cold, idle engine for more than 12 minutes 45 seconds.
- Drive away and maintain a road speed between 8 mph and 80 mph for at least 50 seconds.
- Pull over and idle engine for at least 66 seconds.

This procedure has worked for me since I discovered it on my JTIS CD back in 2020....

Default Possible ECM repair.

Jon89 - I ran the drive cycle recommended for your 2006 XK8 but it did not work on my 2002 XKR.
The JITS for 2002 says that they had not developed a specific drive cycle for the Comprehensive Component Monitor, but I thought it was worth a try anyway.
I am starting to suspect a problem with the ECM itself and looking at repair or reconditioning options.
I don't know how to test the ECM so I guess I just have to send it off to the experts for repair.
Any advice would be appreciated, as always.
Thanks,
Alan.

Thanks, JAGV8 as that was helpful.
My car has passed EVAP and the other tests except the Comprehensive Component Monitor.
I thought it relied on completion of the other tests, but it appears to be more than that.
Quote: the comp components monitor readiness is tied to essentially every diagnostic that is NOT in the other monitors.
So I believe I have one component issue that is preventing completion for smog readiness.

Hey Alan, good luck! Have a similar issue with my 2004 XKR for "comprehensive component" IM readiness as being "inc" for GA emissions. Seems like a catch22 as I have seen all pass, then engine light will come on with a P0456 code (very small leak). I'll try again with the above PDF steps, although suspect next stop is auto repair visit to check with smoke test and possible cannister, and/or other issue for the EVAP leak to resolve. Have already replaced the gas cap. Urgh...so close to being ready

Default Recurring DTC problems

Hi Xman. I have similar problems with recurring codes, so here is my experience for what it's worth.
On my 2002 XKR, the issue was code P0447 Canister Close Valve CCV open circuit.
I checked it myself and could not find a problems with the CCV so I took it to a Jaguar independent specialist.
He found no problem either but advised to replace the CCV anyway. Parts and Labor $300.
Code P0447 came right back. I checked it again and found no problem.
Then I found a technical bulletin that said for code P0447, to check the purge control valve even if the DTC for it is not flagged.
So I checked mine and it was stuck closed, would not operate. I replaced it myself. Jaguar part $155 + tax.
Code P0447 came right back. I checked CCV and all the circuits over and over but found no problem.
Could be electrical connectors or computer issues, but I noticed something interesting ......
I was often reading the DTC status with ignition on engine off (IOEO) and that seemed to cause a problem.
The code P0447 would only flag with engine off and not with engine on.
I think the computer turns off some stuff if ignition is on more than 5 seconds without starting the engine. (my theory)
Since then I always start the engine immediately and never use IOEO ignition position.
The code P0447 never came back again and my EVAP system passed the monitor tests.
Also, I often get code P1647 for a faulty connection to O2 sensor B2S1 so I fiddle with the connector and code goes away for a while.
All 4 of the O2 sensors were replaced so I think it is just a connector issue on that one.
Your mileage may vary, but I hope that helps.
Regards,
Alan.
