Convertible top - cleaning/protection
My 99 XK8 top is in good shape and I would like to keep it that way. Any recommended products for cleaning/protection? My first thought was like a scotchgaurd waterproofing but wanted to hear what other owners have been using first.
thanks

Go to any boat shop and get a spray bottle of marine grade waterproofer for boat awnings .......works perfectly and its perfectly safe for really expensive boats

That's what I use. Makes the water bead up and run right off!
Hey guys, don't mean to hijack this thread but I wondered if someone could help. I've got a 1998 xk8 convertible and I am am unsure if there is supposed to be a hole in the inside of the top. In the spot where you would pull the top back in the event of a mechanical failure there is just a hole. I though there might be a hand grip or something in there. Is it supposed to be like this? Thanks.
Yep, that handgrip hole is indeed normal. Many owners do not like the look of it. Some may have fashioned covers or plugs to make it less visible....
