Default First posting question, cylinder linings?

I have a 2001 XKR and I read a really good post called the bible. Is my block made with the cylinder walls coated with that weird stuff? thanks in advance, Stacey

If you are referring to the Nikasil engines, post your VIN and our Nikasil experts should be able to tell you whether or not your particular vehicle falls within the range (assuming your car has its original engine)....

The general rule-of-thumb is that any Nikasil engine still running strong has long since made it past the days of Nikasil-killing gasoline....

My 1997 has the Nikasil liners and it doesn't use any noticeable amount of oil between it's 300 mile oil changes.

You change the oil every 300 miles! Have you missed out a nought? If not, please sell me your used stuff - I am sure it’ll be as good as new..........

You must have missed the forum Oil Change Competition. It's been running for years. The winner will be the first member to change oil more frequently than refuelling.

That should be 3000...

Though with all I've got on my plate next year I may only get 300 miles on.

Dammit, and I really thought you had plumbed a new level of Jaguar Fanaticism.
