A great bunch of people on this forum
I wanted to take a minute and say how great this forum is, I have been restoring a 97XK8 and the information on this forum is second to none. I have been helped with parts from a few people on here and wanted to say thank you to all on here. We try and keep these beautiful cars running and enjoying them. Be proud all hobbies like this give you more than allot of people understand. They do not understand the satisfaction and enjoyment keeping a classic car going down the road, knowing every thing about it.
Again thank you.

Again thank you.

You’d be surprised to see how many classic car forums are insular and not welcoming to new blood. Not here.
I researched this forum before buying my 2002 XKR. Thanks to the knowledge base here, I was able to know what to look for in the way of known issues. And thereby avoid being a sad story.

And BTW, the OP is a pretty smat guy in regards to these cars!
Agreed. When I had my 2003 Carrera I was on that forum. Mostly good members but also lots of rude members and threads often turned into personal attacks.
Despite all that, our cars are still simpler than modern ones. It does make you wonder if modern cars will still be going strong 25 years from now, with seemingly every part of the car controlled by a different module on a different network. Let's hope we are still around to say "I told you so".
I plan on curtailing my driving in the next two years, (currently 3x the national annual average on a Volvo S-90), and will be heading back to a 96 or 97 XJ6 for a daily....or possibly a MB 300CD....
Frankly I can probably buy both for a heck of a lot less than a new Camry...so why bother choosing!????
Get 'em both!

Oh ! Curtailing your driving? I feel your pain.
Since you will be driving less, I suggest you up your alcohol intake, or more pain medication perhaps, anything to dull your poor sensory deprivation of not seeing the great open road beyond the expansive hood / bonnet of an X-100.

By curtailing driving I meant the weekly trips to Buffalo or Albany from Syracuse...plus points in between...to keep an eye on properties we manage. I'm 66 and grooming a young associate to do the
weekly grind while I go perhaps monthly.
So....not needing an AWD modern car to deal with the crazy winters up here for over six-seven hours driving I going to get back to the fun analog stuff.
I still have a 61 Corvette too so that would be a fun choice in the morning....plus my beater Tundra for winter!!
Speaking of consumption....one of the benefits of driving all over hell is stopping by multiple liquor stores in small towns. I've found some real gems and dusties....love my bourbon!
