Default Help! P0227, P0228, P2123, P1000

2005 Jaguar XK8!

I replaced the lower radiator hose (pain, no room for hands and tools), Upper radiator hose, took off the whole housing that holds the thermastat and replaced the "O" rings and some of the little short connector hoses above and around the thermastat housing. I also replaced the expansion tank / fluid level sensor.

I cranked everything up and all leaks seem to be gone but now I am idling high and pressing the gas pedal does nothing. I am getting the following fault codes: P0227, P0228, P2123, P1000. What have I bumped with my hand? What circuit do I have a short in and where do I start looking?

Check to make sure all the electrical connectors at the throttle body and MAF are plugged in fully.

What is the age and condition of the battery? A failing or weak battery may also be the cause.

If the voltage is 12.2 volts, or less, with the ignition in the off position, the battery must be replaced.

Thanks, . I got it. I found one connector that was wet inside. Dried it out. I also pushed on one connector and got a click I think. So maybe, one or both was the problem. Either way the messages are gone.

Well done! I hope that eliminates all the issues for you!

If you clear the codes, the monitors will need time to return to the 'ready' mode for any pending emissions test.

I have an OBDII plugged (bluetoothed to my phone) in all the time. I use an app called Torque Pro. I think the app cost under $10.00 but well worth it. I can clear my codes and monitor in real time my coolant temperatures and many other things. I run this most all the time I am in the car. I clip my phone into a little holder on my windsheild. I set my coolant warning at 215 Deg (112 C). in the app. Gives me a little peace of mind especially when I had a little bit of a slow slow leak. I have not fixed the slow leak but I have located it and slowed it way down. Its around the "O" ring (a slip fit, ugggg, bad design) where the neck and the thermastat housing connect.... (2) plastic parts with an "O" ring slip fit ... what was Jaguar thinking. I replaced all the "O" rings but that one I couldnt find. I guess I will buy the aluminum housing. Its not that expensive but when you are replacing hoses throughout and redoing the suspension ( shocks and all) it is beginning to add up. If I could avoid paying $85.00 for a housing because of a $2.00 "O" it would be better.

Not really... Those plastic thermostat housings are known to crack.
