No crank
Car was running well this morning. I went to the hospital and now that I’m leaving the car won’t crank.
I’ve got no codes. The fuel pump is working as I can hear it. Dashboard lights all light up as they should. But, when I turn the key, nothing happens. Not even an attempt at cranking.
I do have booster cables with me, but no other car nearby to attempt to jump the car. Also, I’m quite far from any chain parts store where I could have the battery tested.
I checked the immobilizer but that did nothing. Any ideas before I have to call a tow truck?

I had not thought of that. I’m going to have the battery load tested tomorrow and will check the cables and ground.
GD,
Always nice to have a stranger help out. Shows that there are nice people around.
One of the first jobs I did was put in new upgraded solid copper battery cables. When I first got the car I noticed that the old cables heated up which is never a good sign. If your battery tests fine, it's probably the cables. A decent garage would also check the alternator at the same time. If you're replacing, do both +ve and ground - order the right lengths without crimps.
Also later I put in a new engine ground cable (which was a bugger as it's under a hard to reach bolt for the CAT converter).

There you go! Us old Folks don't put out much spark anymore!
Good Luck with the new Battery.............
