Default Oil leak from speaker

I have an oil leak coming from this overhead speaker. Any idea why this might be? I've had the car for 4 years and it has always dripped from there.

That's not a speaker and that's not oil. The dreaded green shower is eminent. My car was bypassed before I got it and I have no problems operating the latch manually.
It's not a major fix but you need to know the right things to do. Search on this forum as advised above. TM

Oh, interesting. Not to hijack the thread, but mine looked a lot like that. Kind of gooey, and the lights looked as if they'd had some brownish stain or something. Nothing worked. I never thought that it might have been subject to the green shower. I know the PO had paid $5K for a new top just before the trans went out and he parked it. Since my top works fine, perhaps I can assume that the hoses were done as part of the top.

Anyway, concerning this, it took a while but I found a suitable replacement on eBay and just tossed my original into the trash.

Indeed! Although the hoses I saw when doing my rear window regulator looked to be in pretty good condition, and somebody has been into the header area at the top of the windshield. So... it was an educated guess. I suppose I should pull off that panel and look around.

I bought a 1998 XXK8 that had a 'weeping' hood latch/overhead console area and discovered NEW HOSES.
The latch itself was leaking but I had a repaired cylinder block assy from TOP HYDRAULICS in stock so I replaced it and topped up the fluid reservoir.

Don't assume hoses are all that leak.

Look at your hoses in the boot area and see if they have a date on them. I think some do.
