Default Rear boot badge.

I've noticed on several XK8/R's rear boot lids a round growler badge just like the front. We're these ever factory or a dealer option? I actually like it. I noticed it on the James Bond Zao XKR.

I think they were standard issue one or two years around '98/'99

I think I'd like it if for no other reason than something to use to close the boot!! It drives me crazy to see a hand print when I do!! And on dark colors there's no way around the smudge!!
That being said, I love the hand pull inside. I don't understand why they don't put those on every jaguar. I may add one to my XF.

I pull on the latch loop to get it over center and let it fall the rest of the way.

My wife's XK8 is white, so you never see a fingerprint or smudge. And the paint fade factor is negligible. Man, I love white exteriors....

Similar from Mina gallery. They also have two sizes in factory I think.

Phil, it might be a good spot for a leaper. The only question would be which way to point it! LOL!

So it actually was factory! I thought I saw it somewhere and here is a photo in Graham Robson XK8 book on an early XKR. I wonder if they only did it on the R?
I still like it on a dark car to stop "paw" prints when closing boot!!

Huh, I was wondering why the GT5 XKR has it. I thought it was a blooper.
