Hi,
Since I am doing a major cooling system overhaul, I already took out many parts such as fan assembly, belts, pulleys, hoses, etc.
After visually inspecting the alternator (looks so nasty) I decided to replace it with a remanufactured unit.
I found several remanufactured units on Rockauto and the price range is $95-$170.
My question is... which one? does the expensive one is better than the others? Can anyone recommend a remanufactured unit for my 2006 XKR?
Thanks in advance,
JW
I found a new one from Denso was the cheapest option on ebay at about $140.
Re manufactured can mean we fit new Diodes /regulator .slip rings and brushes along with bearings or it can mean we just sandblast as much of the old as we can leave in the old bearings skim the slip rings and fit new brushes. Give it a 90 day warrantee and if it fails give you another.
You dont need the 220A but you need a pulley as they are a pig to tighten.

[UPDATE]
As suggested, I found 2 decent local remanufacturers in my town. I will contact them to make sure they use original Denso parts.
Thanks for your suggestions.
