Stripped rear axle shaft camber spacer stud
I was replacing the camber shims for the rear axle. All went well on the right side. When I did the left side, 3 of the 4 nuts were not that bad to remove. The 4th one required a little more persuasion. I made liberal used of penetrating fluid. When I was reassembling everything, one of the nuts would not go onto the stud. That’s when I had a good look and noticed the stud was stripped.
Great, now I need to replace a stud, and it doesn’t seem like it can be done with the diff in the car. Has anyone done this? Do I really have to dismantle the entire rear end for one stud?
Can I used an off-the shelf stud, or do I need a Jaguar specific one?
