I'm an KXR newbie with an R-Performance optioned 2004, 14K mile convertible. The domed Rubber Boot covers that sit in the opening on the strut tower are missing. They are to cover the Adaptive wiring connectors. Jaguar does not have the part available and has deleted the part number from the system.

To complicate parts hunting Jaguar's system has all totally incorect information on the car showing it delivered and remaining in England and Jaguar North America's Parts locator rejects the Vin #.

Does someone out there have words of wisdom on how to find a set or an adaption that might work?

That's weird - you should be able to post in that forum as well as this one. A number of features aren't enabled until you reach a post threshold (I think it's 10) - stuff like posting photos, having an avatar and a signature. But I'm surprised you can't post.

I've had a dig around in my old XK8 stuff, and I think the part you want is NJA3975BB, which has a cutout for the CATS wiring. I got some hits for that on Google, so you may be able to order it:

Don't get NJA3975AB, which is for the non-CATS suspension.

 

Thanks for the reply and part number. Terry's has discontinued the Adative Strut Cover. Jaguar discontinued it. Does any one know who might even have a used set? The Engine bay looks so unfinished without the covers and Jaguar did not put them on in 2004 and just left the adaptive wiring dangling.

If nothing else, I bet with some Dremel work on a non-CATS cover, you could make it work. I went through this a few years ago, but no CATS to deal with.

I owe you a return favor big time! Thanks for the tip. Your message came up on my phone and I bought them minutes later. I had almost given up and was scouring junk yards. I had set an ebay seach but it never turned up as the seller had the Damper Covers listed under Interior /Mirrors.

 

I found that none of the parts suppliers have them, even non CATS versions. Someone just pointed out a new set on Ebay so the problem is solved without scouring junk yards. I just need to see what the cutout for CATS looks like and modify them. Jaguar never put them on 04-06 and it's real distracting in a detaled engine bay without them.
