Did anything ever come of this? Has anyone actually bought the kit and installed it? I see the link is still active. 5HP24 Dip Stick I just finished a complete rebuild of my Trans so I am interested in this if it works well?

I just ordered it for my 2000 - after spending a few nights wondering how to do this in my own garage - pondering installing a quick-drain and a sight glass to verify level - this is a BARGAIN !
Will post install and results after it arrives.

I installed one of these about 3 years ago. It took a bit of "fiddling" to get it to fit, a bend hear and a twist there kinda thing, but I got it in. Funny I just did a drain and refill (no filter change) this morning and it makes it nice. The fluid level is not easy to read as you almost need to put it on a white cloth to see the level. It is always on the end and not up the cable so I guess it is OK. Three years ago at 60,000 miles I changed the filter and installed the dip stick. I had read somewhere to measure the amount of fluid you remove from the trans, add 4 oz. (not sure of the amount) for the filter and put that amount back. That is what I did then and again today. I know back then I received a email about there was a issue with the dip stick and he would get back to me when he corrected it, but I never heard from him and since I got mine in, I never contacted him. It is nice for refilling the trans. Good Luck.

Put me down for one also. If that one works, I'll order another for my XJ8.

Just wondering if you received your dip stick and how it went? Any pictures you can share?

The dip stick thing must be a dead horse. No reports on anyone installing one, or for that matter, receiving any information from the 'developer', if there is one.
Oh well, I'm sure there are guys on here, as with all forum's, that are just dreamer's, and never had a Jaguar, or at least a real one.

sorry gents, was out "dreaming", on a 3 day drive to S Padre Island and back, towing an xk project back to my workshop.
My dipstick arrived via post while I was out. After a few days of catchup here, I will post some pics, and then decide on how to document the install. Just on first glance, it appears very WELL made, but tha's an opinion formed after towing for 22 hours ...

Ok, folks - I scanned the install docs to my dropbox folder, during my unpack of the box ... still need a few more days for my back to feel flexible to bend over for the install - but you can check out the steps. Again, seems to be very professionally made, excellent quality.
If it works, I'll order the 6HP kit next week for my 2007 xk.

I think most of it is uploaded here - but of course you are very welcome to look. I'm in the middle of building up a XK-only workshop in Florida, so I've been gathering stuff for reference ... I'll get more energetic and post more there!
