Default Wayne’s front shock mounts

Just a quick note to thank Member “Wayne” for all his help supplying me with his front shock bushings. He sent me the new parts already mated to donor housings to make it easier to do without laying the car up to long.
I had a local shop do the actual work, ( I’m scared to death of compressed springs) took them just under 3 hrs, $300.

The car has 120200 miles on it now and once again rides like a dream. I drove 500 miles round trip yesterday and even horrible RT 290 in Worcester, MA never even upset the car. It’s an absolute please to drive again.

Again, Wayne (cjd777) couldn’t have been more helpful or gracious with his help. He should be getting my cores back today.

Jack

Wayne (cjd777) and Steve (baxtor) deserve loads of credit for what they have done for the XK8/XKR worldwide community. Welsh, URO, Eurospare, and any other commercial business selling their own inferior front shock mount products could learn quite a bit by spending a few days with either of these guys....

Have to agree with these comments both Wayne and Steve were extremely helpful when I went through the upper mount saga. Thanks to both of you.

I just installed 2 sets of Wayne's mounts on two different customer's cars. (2003 XKR coupe and 1998 XK8 conv)

Both sets were for MY XKRs (when they were needed) but I got talked into installing them on customer cars.
I need 2 more sets.....................

A big shout out to Baxtor (Steve) too. A great solution to an ongoing issue. Loving mine!

Fitting Wayne's mounts resulted in a totally novel experience for me - having fitted a "modification" to my car and took the good lady for a drive, she actually remarked that the car felt much better and nicer to be in. This is the first time she has ever thought that something I have done to a car has improved it. Thank you for this genuinely novel experience.

How can I contact Wayne?
I'm in NC also, I just bought a XK8 and I just replaced the upper bushings but reading here it looks like I wasted my time for not reading first. Would like to Contact Wayne to prepare myself for the next time replacing these mounts.

Steve, the weather sure hasn't been anything but bad, not any time in the garage, so we are good.
Oz, send me a message in the Profile area, just click on the members forum name. Now, where are you in NC?

Welcome very nice car but, I'm partial to 03 rag tops lol. What struck me about your picture is that beautiful car sitting in a sea of white whatever SUVs and minivans. When did auto designers lose their souls and direction? Good luck with the car you'll love it, and the help and resources here for Jags is second to none on the internet.
