I forgot about the sunglasses holder. I'll have to check and see what's in mine. I recall using it years ago.

It won't have a bag of Haribo in it I can tell you that now.

If there is an unidentifiable white powder, vacuum it out, FAST, throw it out as I did with the powder I found in the trunk of a Cadillac I bought years ago, in Miami no less...

You guys lead the life there's no doubt! I'm trying to think of the worst thing I have found in a new to me car - apart from loose engine mounts (all four of them) I can't think of anything beyond just rubbish.

In addition to the white powder in the trunk, I found $6.34. Largest coin was $.10. Also discovered that what I thought were black wall tires were just VERY dirty whitewalls. Heh, it was a 1984 Caddy Seville. White walls looked good. After cleaning 3 times, it was a great car.

Actually now you mention coins - my current Jag contributed quite a lot of cash (well a few quid) from down the side of the seat. Sadly some more has fallen in there as well since I got it.

Should be a regular part of maintenance to pull seats and clean coins. As a teenager(back in Neanderthal times according to my kids), I regularly rummaged in and under the seats for coins, to buy gas!! Of course in those days, $2.00US would almost fill my tank.

Not now it won't. My son lives in CA and he came over to the UK and hired a car. He was horrified at the cost of fuel. I am wryly amused by you guys complaining about how expensive fuel is. What is it 5 bucks a gallon albeit a small gallon.

I remember being over there, and I thought I was doing well, until I realized fuel was sold by the liter (litre). California is probably higher. It's around $3.75 a gallon for premium (highest octane) here with my fuel points from the grocery store (Kroger).

So $4.50 for an imperial gallon. That will cost you $7.73 here

People who drive Jaguar already have a happy holiday, but Merry Christmas to all in spite of that.

Merry Christmas to all my Jaguar XK8-XKR Friends! My iPhone says that it is 1:44 AM in London and you will soon wake up to another wonderful Christmas Day! I hope it's a Great Day for you and your family! It was 78 degrees Today in Houston...needless to say....no White Christmas for us here in Texas! Guess I'll take a drive in the XKR Tomorrow and visit my Boys!

Have a Merry Christmas!

Looking out the window this morning it's a very grey UK Christmas here and mild too. I'm no huge fan of snow - I hate wet feet - but a crisp frost is nice at this time of year.

Happy Christmas to all you guys and many thanks for the help you've given me!

You're not alone, doc - it's exactly the same here in this sub-tropical island paradise

My thanks to you all for making the forum what is is, and a very Merry Christmas to everyone.

I would also like to wish the forum members a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year. I'm lucky, for me Christmas comes twice a year. Once today and again in May when I get to drive the car again.
