Default Why and when would you turn the trac off?

I have a 2000 xk8 and would like to find out when and why you would want to turn the trac button off or on?

Thank you

I've done it before to have some fun in empty parking lots, but also when I need to or want to quickly accelerate and don't want traction control to cut off power. My XK8 somehow manages to spin the tires somewhat even in the dry with my new and very expensive tires (for my budget).

Kind of want to dyno mine because it feels like it has more than 290 crank HP. I was able to keep up with a Corvette C5 ZO6 on the highway three weeks ago, both going flat out. I was surprised I reached 130 mph from 65 in what felt like 5 seconds. I also encountered another XK8 a month or so ago at a stop light and agreed to gun it, I lept ahead by about 2 car lengths.

When stuck on ice, snow or mud are the usual answers. Sometimes in those circumstances, spinning the wheels is the only way to get going.

When having to make a really sharp U-Turn. Doing a half donut can reverse direction in about twenty feet - :-D

Also, it can make driving in the snow a blast! (if there's absolutely nothing to crash into around - lol)

When sitting at a red light and a Corvette is sitting next to you. I had this happen and we got on it when the light turned green, just about the time the supercharger is getting with it the tires slipped and the trac control shuts the engine down. Very embarrassing!

Also if I push my button hard in the middle it gets stuck and turn the trac control back on, I have to push it ever so slightly at the corner until the light comes on.

Default Must be a freak

Sorry, old term in our young days with our first car. More powerful than an average Chevelle 4 dr 6 cyl. Must be a freak. Factory goofed and added an extra 100 hp to my car... Not to bust your bubble, the ZO6 had to have its valet, or son user switch on which reduces HP by 100. Rich

I suspected mechanical problems.

Thank you
For the lulz and the fun!

Stuck in snow though, TC when you need slip is annoying and counterproductive.
