You can get either a blank to have cut locally or a cut Valet Key from Terrys Jaguar Parts but you may lose enthusiasm when you see what it costs.

Curiouser and curiouser.
Jaguar's price for the black key is almost double that of the green (UK £72.88 and £40.48 + tax) . I imagine it is something to do with the cost of the pigments

I know which I will choose if I need another key...

I noticed that too on the Jaguar Parts website. Don't forget all the extra machining required on the end of the Master Key.

Who trusts handing their key to a valet service? Never have and never will....

Check the forum market place as there is a forum member who can assist with the Tibbe keys

If Puerto Rico uses the same security system as North America, the 1997 X100 does NOT have the immobilizer RFID key.

Any 8 cut TIBBE key blank will work and you will not need it configured to the car.

Jaguar began the RFID key transponders in 1998MY for North America.

SONE is the forum member that cut my key and mailed it to me.

Puerto Rico does indeed use the same security system as North American market cars because our cars belong to the USA market. In fact, before arriving in our docks, any product to be sold here, including cars, must first be transferred to a US ship at a port in Florida due to the Jones Act of 1920 by the USA.

Part number for GREEN TIBBE Valey key without RFID transponder is JLM 1949 for Jaguars 1988 to 1997 North American models. (XJ40 all the way up to the 1997MY XK8)

Very easy to file a valet key so it is a fully functional master key, but advanced metallurgy skill required to go in the other direction.

Thanks for the response. But I do not have one so I am not going to be able to make a copy.
