Just noticed today that the passenger front side marker/clearance light has popped out of its hole in the fender. Looks like there's a clip on one end of it, but nothing on the other to keep it in place. Any insight as to how these lights are secured?

Edit - It's an '03 model.

 

On my recently replace 97 it had a metal clip on both ends. I would assume that you need a clip at both ends on yours.

I just bought new ones on eBay. They were about $50.

Vern - looks like Jaguar changed the design in '03; from what I've seen mine doesn't have metal clips, but is all plastic. Wondering if they're interchangeable...

Bob - only ones I see on ebay have the metal clips. Is that the type you got? Oh, and GEAUX, TIGERS!!!

Thanks, Bob. The listing doesn't show the back side. Sorry if I'm being a bother, but want to be sure they're interchangeable. The one I have is all plastic like the one "XK8 Rebel" posted in the link you provided about the cheap fix.

OK - thanks again! The plastic clip on mine is split, but not broken off. I just applied a bit of Super Glue to it and will see if it holds. We'll see...

 

The super glue set overnight and I just went out to the garage to install the light. Popped it in and heard it click in place; pulled slightly to see if it would come out and so far so good! Better than spending $50, but like I said, we'll see. Though it's nice to know replacements are available...

Hey Man, that is the Blinker Lens and it is all Plastic....You want the Front Marker Light in Amber...is has a clip on both ends that attach to the Fender.....Don't put Super Glue on you XK.....Buy the right Part!

Well, not exactly; no clips on it. It is all plastic, but there's a lip on one end that fits on the sheet metal, and the other end has a plastic lever-looking spring that engages the metal. That lever is what cracked, but didn't break off - just enough to where it wouldn't hold. I used the super glue to repair and reinforce the crack.

So, now it still has not only the right part, but the original part!

Once again, the Blinker on the back -side of the Fender is all Plastic and I can see you Supergluing the Clip on it...OK? But the Side Marker has (2) Metal Clips and I don't see how you could Superglue it back onto the Fender, without gluing it to the Fender....I think you have your Lights mixed-up....
