Default 0-60mph in 2.89 seconds w/1FT and 3.08 seconds without

I decided to take the Jag out today and do some testing. I tried it twice and the first time it did 0-60mph in 3.11 seconds and the 2nd try was 3.08 seconds. With a 1ft rollout it did 2.89 seconds. The car was still spinning, but it was a very motivated spin.

I'm going to try to have the Draggy going at the track sometime to measure 0-60mph as I know the car pretty much dead hooks at the track and should do a bit better. The best 0-10mph was a .36 on the street so there's still a bit more there.

Looking forward to getting this thing back to the track when it opens and surpassing my 10.89@130.1mph when I had the car at the track last time it was open a few months back. I'm also going to run the draggy at the track and monitor 0-60mph there as I'm curious what the car does when it actually doesn't spin.

What mods have been done, if any ? What type of tires are on it ?
That is fast !
Even the factory published 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds and what people are seeing for 1/4 mile times and speeds in F types are impressive when you consider it is a sports car and wasn't conceived as a drag racer.

Feel free to post as many pics of your car as you'd like.

Beautiful (and fast!) ride.

The car has VAP pullies, tune and also did air filters as well. Can't remember which air filters now but I think they were the BMC's. The install is on my YouTube channel.

Bone Stock the car did 3.3s 0-60 actual time without the 1FT rollout. It did 11.30@125mph bone stock. Video Below:

And this was the time I took the car to the track when it was modified. I need to take it back soon.

I got to thinking about what kind of performance the so called classic muscle cars of the 1960's and '70's were capable of and found this article. It's quite interesting but a bone stock F Type R would beat the pants off of almost every one of them. We are living in interesting times.

It's amazing what even a one wheel rotation rolling start will do for acceleration times.

This might be goofy but it makes me think about the startup voltage (amperage?) required to get an electrical motor going. From what I understand, fans for example have speed settings in the order OFF-High-Medium-Low so that as you first turn the motor on it has enough power to overcome the initial stationary state of the motor, whereas if low power were first, I believe it puts more strain on the powertrain. Seems like maybe the same sort of principle is playing out with the rolling start...

Maybe I just need to go to sleep...

You could get different tires for the rear, but AWD is nice too.

Thanks, here is the video of when I took it to the dyno a couple weeks or so ago:

Hi,
are these 1/4 mile times all with rollout (1 foot) or without at your tracks?

Andi,

I am assuming that the time starts when the staging turns off. I have never had that question before, so I couldn't tell you exactly how they do it...I just race.
