@Gasman2 My comment was not about country of origin but about parts labelled as "OEM" when they are clearly not. This is a serious issue when ordering Bosch fuel injectors and NGK spark plugs.

Also I am trying to avoid what happened to @WayneB although I note that these kits are sold out anyway.

@jahummer have you installed them yet? Do you have F-type or XKR from from your signature?

Thank you jahummer!
Higher than aftermarket but not too extreme for what you get.

Y installed quite nicely, snug and perfectly seated flush and aligned. Note the diameter of the inlet's significantly larger than either the KO alloy versions or the genuine plastic versions making access to the notorious RH screw a bit more difficult in this state. Will note if there's any affect to accessing this screw with the supercharger in place.

Pardon my confusion. JLR originally made metal pipes, then replaced with plastic with seams that failed. Then they revised the plastic part to address the seams but they are still brittle plastic. And now they are back to metal again? Are these the original metal design or some new version 2.0? I guess I'm asking: Have we just come full circle (and JLR is producing the old metal pipes again) or is this a constant evolution where each part is superior to the part that came before it?

That’s correct! And they’re a completely new design.

What’s most puzzling to me is why for an engine no longer made or used???

Lower cost than the very first iteration from EuroAMP - at least for those of us not in the US (subject to customs and high delivery).

LR186859 - £140
LR186917 - £57

Remember parts are designed & costed for manufacture well in advance of any changes to Company plans.

Thank you! And just to clarify further, there are new JLR aluminum pipes for both the V8 and V6 engines?

@jahummer Any reason not to also pull the oil cooler to inspect it and replace the gasket while you are in there? Check out this post by @f-driver :

Did mine last year but if it’s time to be done then certainly
added to the list of “whilst in there”.

While I love the fact that Jaguar did release these in Aluminum. Just think how much money they could have saved in warranty costs AND the big hit to their reputation because of the exploding plastic pipes. Just seems like a day late and a dollar short to me. This should have happened 12-15 years ago when the plastic cooling parts started failing massively.

I mean did they just now (2024) realize how bad these were? They had years of repair reports and complaints.

it’s all quite strange, especially considering these engines have been discontinued. Main dealer did indicate these are intended as aftermarket parts And they still offer the plastic versions. But considering how JLR have been known to discontinue parts for models making serviceability, challenging, why would they do this?

I have the revised plastic stuff on mine, but still, good to know…

Ordered factory metal pipes through my dealer. He said they we're coming out of Memphis. My '16 F Type has 92,000 miles on original pipes.

I'm doing a timing job so the supercharger is out. I've had the Euro Amp parts for almost 2 years now and finally will be doing this. I also have the new aluminum crossover pipe in hand

Is it still the consensus that the O rings need to be replaced with thicker ones on the Euro Amp stuff?

How do you pressure test the system without the supercharger in place considering that coolant lines run into the supercharger?
