Default F-Type V8 R tuning options?

hi guys, is there a thread with all the tuning options available for this drivetrain?

I see on the project 7 jag has taken the 5.0L to 600hp, and im curious if it's as simple as a pulley and tune

For those offering tunes, is it a reflash or a piggy back solution.

If reflash, is this proprietary to the tuner, or is there freeware available for this platform?

Last few cars i've had were easy to tune, cobb on my R35, freeware on my Evo and a 5 min ots APR reflash on my S3

I know there are some tuning options available, but they are few and far between. Jaguar isn't a tuners market like all the Japanese 4 cylinders...

No, it's 423kw, that's 567hp in old money, or 575ps.

The tune is the same as the F-Type R, the (very minor) gain is from the exhaust.

There is a different transmission program for the Project 7 however.

Oh I could have sworn I watched a vid where metcalfe said it was 600hp

I wonder what they did with exhaust for 30kw, from what I saw on hoist of demo it was 2 cats and muffler bypass with valves open

Would have to retain cats to be eu legal, maybe they went hfc and tubular headers

Whoops, typo from me, 423kw from the Project 7.

The F-Type R is 405kw, 542hp or 550ps

The difference is really only 25hp, which you can get from opening up the exhaust a little.

AFAIK it's only the cat back exhaust that's different, cats & manifolds are the same.

I don't know if they are legit, but Eurocharged is claiming 617bhp from the V8 R using their tune package (ECU update and new pulley)...

jaguar-f-type-r-v8-performance-engine-software-detail

Hennessy has a 623bhp tune as well. One of our members (phillyweb) had that done and reported it worked well for them.

Not sure if that is what you were looking for.

Thanks mate that is exactly what I was thinking - pulley + tune

Now just gotta see if this can be done remotely in Australia or if they have a dealer here

Does anyone sell an obd to usb connector for this car?

Eurocharged is a "for-real" tuner and can back up their claims with dyno data. A good tune really can't be done remotely because a dyno will be needed to dial in for your specific car as manufactured and any mods you might have already done, also to ensure that the car is not running dangerously lean. Eurocharged's only dealer in Australia is Car Toys

I can also highly recommend Rica(Rica Engineering Chiptuning), I have been working with them for a long time on older cars.

They have 2 packages; one is without a pulley and 570 hp, and the one with pulley 625 hp.

I see they also list the Isoftloader withit (have no experience with that one though), allowing you to load the tune yourself in case there is no rica agent in the neighborhood.

They start with the canned tune and tweak for engine protection and performance, especially if you have any significant mods. Give them a call.

I haven't seen any posts in this forum from folks who've had the Eurocharged tune done on an F-Type. I'd like to hear from someone who has done this to get an impression of how successful it was and whether the difference is noticeable in regards to power, "improved responsiveness and drivability" and "reduced hesitation." I'm also curious about their claims on improved fuel economy and how that really translates under real world use.

One member has the ECU Tuning Group tune and pully upgrade. They claim the same hp figures as the rest. I recently raced him in a rolling 1/2 mile drag.

The other angle, starts at 56sec.

I did the Eurcharged, in Houston tune, late last year.

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...ts-v8s-127932/

Big difference in power and acceleration but then had a traction problem with the PZeros. Could easily spin them in the first 3 gears.

My 1/4 mile time was 12.06 seconds @ 123 MPH, with a reaction time of .221 seconds however my 60' time was very poor at 2.230 seconds. I just could not hook with with the easy to spin PZeros.

Last month I had PSS installed. Traction problem solved and my acceleration times are somewhat improved. Will have to get new numbers for you.

I do highly recommend Eurocharged pulley and tune for the car though. It greatly transformed my V8S. It's not tuned Turbo S fast but it's very impressive none the less and a big improvement of the stock 495HP.

I had ECU Tuning Group in NC do the pulley swap and tune, had the pzeros changed to the PSS and difference is most noticeable from 50-120 or so... Could not be happier with the results.

So unless you're aiming to V-max Conrod, I'm confused. I'd always understood that Wallabee supporters were already Well Endowed???
