Where in Australia are you?

I'd love to see some pictures of the setup you have gone with and what was required?

Default HP22

Hi, it could be done by using an adapter plate, alloy or steel.
Problem is to center the thing otherwise judder ,
best remove the engine, than buy a good second hand auto box HP22.
Use the old Borg warner to make the adapter plate.

I made one for my Austin Healey, MK2 , BT7.
Reason for that is my handicap !
Good luck, Han.

The trouble is the cost.

Hey, we are Jaguar owners so we have deal with some cost I use the Dakoda digital as I am running a modern GM LS1 V8 so like all modern cars the output is digital and with that box it coverts it back to old school mechanical so I can keep my stock gauges. If you want to keep stock gauges then I think you need to spend the money otherwise change your gauges and you do not need the box. GM transmissions work well and there are so many performance transmissions available.

Hi again folks including Stoney 85.
I am in Victoria, you can get me on 0419 322 899.Iam not good at keeping photographic records, and although the assembly is now fitted and ready for start up a problem arose today, with fluid leaking from the transmission between the Volvo ext,n housing and g,box housing due to the head of a bolt fouling the inside of the ext,n housing. All fixed now,but it is suprising how many small differences there are in areas where you would think there would be interchangeability.
I have fitted a VDO electronic speedo but until the car is road going and the necessary setup procedure is complete I will not know how successful this will be.
Cheers for now.

Hi gents,340 is now on the road and performing very well, the zf4hp22 auto has transformed the car, with smooth almost undetectable gear changes and much quieter cruising. At 100 kph the engine does only 2000 rpm,it was not an easy conversion but well worthwhile.

Hi Maurie- thinking about this conversion and discovered that you did it years ago - wondering if you are still on the forum as I'd like to run over your experience. I am in Victoria. Cheers Al;

Hi Al sorry I have not been active on the forum of late but still actively involved in Jaguar restoration, mostly with V12's, but I still have the 340 so will help if possible.
I am placed in Melbourne . Cheers Maurie.

If all else fails in trying to get a speedometer working, I suggest go for a GPS speedometer.
I have been using them for years in addition to normal speedos.
They are far more accurate than any mechanical or electric system fitted to the majority of cars.
The only problem is they don't work in tunnels.
