New (used) XK8 Convertible
Thanks to this forum and the users who post. I consulted the forum many times before taking the plunge into Jaguar ownership. I recently bought a 99 XK8 convertible with 26,500 miles.
In the past three weeks, I have plunged $3000 into it in the following areas:
Four new tires to replace the bald/dry rotted Pirellis.
Replaced the H/K subwoofers.
New computer required to pass Virginia emissions test.
Preventative replacement of secondary tensioners.
Preventative replacement of water pump, thermostat and housing.
I will be purging the top hydraulic fluid and adding the pressure relief valve to the top pump very soon.
I really appreciate all of the information on the problem areas and repair techniques. I look forward to interacting with you all.

A 1999 with 26,500??? WOW. That's a LOW MILER!! That's what I have on my 2006. Sounds like you are doing all the right stuff. Should be a very satisfying relationship.

My 'club scene' is right here...but I do take in the occasional local British car show. Maybe we can all meet up at one this season.
