It's weird, trying to go for an avant-garde angle. The teaser clip feels like it's trying to steer the brand to be a bit more youthful. Youthful with money.
The Haute Coture vibe of the entire thing is trying to place them in like a segment of people who have lots of $$$ and want to stand out. Same demo who would enjoy buying ex-runway clothing and eating very small, very expensive dishes at a Michelin restaurant.
In some ways, being an adman myself, I get WHY they've done it. Bet you this is exactly what the brand manager briefed. But I still don't like it. Really does feel like a desperate pivot for Jag.

Said this on the other thread too. I think not only does the marketing team know exactly what they are doing, they are succeeding. Think of how many people are talking about Jag and have been since this came out. All they needed to do was create a buzz and that they did.

I was wondering about that as well. It is creating a lot of buzz. Not sure they're hitting the mark on who the target audience is. And they are way too late to the game with EV's.
All the other manufacturers are switching back to hybrid.
I haven't seen the advert, but I do know that owners of second hand 20+ year old Jaguars aren't the target market. I also know that in 2023 Jaguar sold a total of 64,000 cars worldwide. Compare that to Tesla, who sold 1.81 million cars in the same period - let that sink in.
Here are some quotations from the clowns who are ruining what might be left of Jaguar cars:
"Santino Pietrosanti, a leading Jaguar brand executive, has backed efforts to push the century-old company in a new direction despite fears it could alienate traditional customers. He said in a speech at an LGBT awards event last year that Jaguar was “not just talking about new cars” but about “embracing the full spectrum of human potential and creativity”.
and
"In a LinkedIn post on Tuesday, he signalled the radical shake-up at the century-old British marque by promising a “new tone” at the historic carmaker.
“As we look forward, Jaguar will recapture originality as its core and shift it to an all-new space where it can be truly unique,” he said.
“Our symbols of change will make this clear – a new device mark, new tone and image.”
So you would have been in the market to buy a brand new Jaguar if it wasn't for the advert? That's what has put you off?
I don't think that was really the point, but rather whether this is a strategy to grow sale to the point where the brand is viable for the future. Of course it doesn't make any difference to those of us with old Jags, because we're bought into the brand of that time, but it would be a shame for the brand to disappear completely. Not being the target audience doesn't mean we can't have a discussion about it.

The brand isn't going to disappear, it will just go the same way as it's fellow former stablemates Volvo and MG, living on as a badge on a Chinese made car.
It's just a shame that British people can't be persuaded to support a British manufacturer for a change, rather than constantly whining about modern life.
I dont like this new Jaguar immagine but , it is only a video for the next line presentation. There are a lot of meme , bloggers , haters about this going around the web now. Not normal for me. Something strange.
This lunacy started in 2011, 13 years later, it's just a disaster. This Bertone Concept car was floated at the Geneva Auto show and Jag chose not to build it saying they were leaving the past behind and going in a new direction.
