2001 S-Type Keyfob Remote Programming
Hello, I have a 2001 S-type and I only got the valet key with the car when I purchased it. I went to the dealer and got the main key cut and programmed for the car. Now, the only thing I was missing was the keyless entry remote. I purchased one on eBay, but I need to know how to program it.
This isn't the key/fob combination, but just the remote with the Lock, Unlock, Panic and Trunk buttons.
How do I program this remote? I've heard of the "valet switch" method and the turn signal stalk method...
I hope a dealer doesn't have to program it... If so, how much would they charge?

I don't think it works on the pre facelift (03) models.

I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and go, then. At least it's only .5 hours of work, or if they claim 1 hour, I may be able to get them down to .5. I only thing I don't like is the fact that the eBay buyer who I purchased the remote from stated that "Remote Programming Instructions Are Included for this remote". It's quite misleading of them to claim that programming instructions are available for a remote that REQUIRES you to have the dealer program it. Thanks for the replies! Nick

Enthusiast - mine already opens/closes windows. It's called global opening/closing, if that's what you mean. It won't open an individually selected window, though.

if you hold the open button on the key fob down for a while all windows and the sun roof will open
if you put the key in the door lock turn and hold it in the locking position all windows including sun roof will close (great for when you get out of the car only to find you have left the sun roof open ) that's on the pre face lift cars like mine
