Yours being a 2003 model, it has the 6-speed transmission?

OK 5-speed is the Ford 5R55N transmission. And if you're having issues with shifting 3-4 then it's probably the prestroke spring.

Have a look here https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...acement-22929/ and https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ild-faq-48240/

EDIT

Are you sure it's a 5-speed? What are the last six digits of the VIN? Higher than M45255?

are you sure it is the 5 speed ?

do the numbers on the j gate go to 5 or 4 ?

if it goes to 5 you have the 6 speed

if it has an electronic parking brake you have the 6 speed

if the numbers go to 4 you have the 5 speed

Well, it can be an engine fault or "the lurch" (Search / google for it).

Oh - or a power (battery etc) fault.

Engine fault would include running OL (open loop) due to some sensor or the like not working or maybe an air leak. OBD would let you check it's not OL / air leak / etc.

If it is a form of the lurch some people have found having the box adaptations cleared has cured it.

I'd make sure engine and battery are perfect and have fluid level checked

No it doesn't.

Abs fault can be sensor, reluctor ring, bad battery, wiring, bad module....... The list goes on, what's the exact code
