I wanted to know what it means if there's antifreeze a leak or drops of antifreeze by the transmission and oil pan..it's not a lot but it seems there's a slow leak somewhere and does anyone know any famous spots for antifreeze leaks?

Famous antifreeze leak is the coolant expansion tank (coolant reservoir.) The thing is that these normally are either an all or none leak and if they were leaking, your car would be overheating quickly. How fast of a leak is it?

Noxparadise, when you say it is leaking near the oil pan, driver's side or passenger side? Really close to the bumper or more towards the tire? If it is up near the bumper, then odds are you have managed to crack the radiator and it is leaking from there. The fix is a new radiator as the radiator is a half plastic, half aluminum piece. So, no real repairs can be made.

If the leak is coming from just in front of the inside edge of the driver's front tire, then odds are you are looking at a bad water pump. Replace the water pump.

If the leak is coming from more along the lines of just in front of the driver's door, but under the car about a foot or so, then your expansion tank is toast. This can normally be noted by a white line in the bottom half of the expansion tank near the nipple for the hose or on the back edge of the overflow bottle where the continuous vent taps into the expansion bottle (the nipple that points at the brake booster).

After that, you would need to track the fluid and see if you can spot a more detailed spot where it appears the coolant is coming from. Normally when the water pump starts to leak, you will get puddles of coolant that gather on top of the tranny, just behind the battery box.

Hmm it looks like its coming from somewhere behind the tranny because I see small drips on the bottom of the tranny and on th oil pan on the front side. It's not a sever leak its a slow drip kinda leak.

Nox, if it is coming from behind the tranny, then I would be looking at the water pump first. After that, I would be looking at the water hoses that run to the overflow bottle. Followed by the hoses that run to the throttlebody. Lots of hoses with coolant in them. But, normally only the water pump or the overflow bottle cause leaks. But, there is always a first.

This leak looks like its coming near the tranny lines there's a feed that comes out of the bottom of the engine and there's a big rubber block that looks like its leaking from the antifreeze feed from the bottom of the engine.

I found that it is leaking from one of the upper radiator hoses at the end of the fitting that connects to the bottom of the engine. The Attached image of #3 is the part that I need to fix. It's the bottom of the "T" shape the piece that is facing up that is leaking. Has anyone had any experience installing this piece?

Thermostat housing to water pump housing gasket. It's a o ring like seal, square cross section and roughly square in shape (rhomboid).

My dealer had it in stock. If I remember I think it was $1.43 US. Mine was leaking too. Slow drops. I had the radiator out as well so it was not hard for me to get to it with the radiator out. Might be a "task", shall we say, with the radiator installed.

I had some pretty good corrosion around the seal area on mine and had to do some light polishing there on the engine side to make sure the sealing surface was smooth, and clean out the groove the seal sits in on the plastic side.
