Default 2010 Jaguar XFR parts, PLEASE HELP!

I have a 2010 Jaguar XFR and I am having issues finding parts! I recently changed the rear wheel bearing due to failure. The rear left axle had to be removed due to the splines in the hub being welded to the axle shaft with rust. Took a press to separate them. After doing so i noticed the CV boot closest to the rear differential was extended meaning it had pulled apart at the joint. I cut the CV metal retainer strap and put all the ball bearings back and realigned CV joint and put the boot back with new retainer strap. Now I have a serious vibration coming from the rear of the car. I need help finding an aftermarket replacement CV axle. Does anyone know where I can get one? The dealership wants way too much for a simple CV axle. They were originally provided by GNK Driveline but that is as far as I have been able to find. I would also like to purchase a driveshaft support bearing without having to buy an entire driveshaft. I have a place local that will install the bearing and rebalance the shaft. This part was also supplied by GKN Driveline. Can anyone help me?

John, I greatly appreciate the info. I am trying to stay away from purchasing from the dealership. I am pretty sure i can get custom axles made for the price of one from the dealer. I would like to purchase aftermarket or from GKN directly.

Is this what you need? It is from a 2011 5.0. There might not be any difference. Or even you can contact the seller & ask what you want. They have an XF that they are tearing apart as seen on the pictures.

If you want you can call GKN directly in their NC office. They just opened a facility in USA.

Address: 1848 GKN Way, Newton, NC 28658, United States

VetteOwner I looked at the ones carid offers. They are the same the dealership offers. They are almost $900 for a simple CV axle. Not sure why they are so high. BMW uses a similar GKN axle and is offered at a quarter of the price. I am hoping to find one much cheaper. 2018XF25T the axle they have pictured has a different style CV boot than the XFR. I have tried to cross reference multiple axles that I found on ebay that pictured the factory tag/pin stamp from GKN and the numbers wont pull up anything but the ones on carid and the dealer websites. I attached the one pictured below for reference. Maybe someone has access that I do not. I work for a plant that makes front and rear cradles for the Ford Mustang and full frames for the F250 to F650 so I am trying to pull strings and get access to OEM CAD files for the axles lol. I appreciate everyone's replies! I will be trying to quote customer axles in the mean time just in case.

For all the trouble your going thru I would shop for a used one on EBay as posted above.
Not usually replaced so there should be some good used ones out there.

clubairth1, That is definitely an option to source a low mileage on from Ebay. I am willing to jump through some hoops to get a new one at a decent cost that is... Not willing to pay dealer prices considering a set of 1000HP capable CV axles for a GM or Ford vehicle will run you just over what one OEM axle will cost is insane. This has been my favorite car I have owned and I plan on keeping it until I just cant fix it lol. I had assumed that it being an 11 year old car that someone had to make a replacement axle by now but info is very limited. So not ruling used axle out but would prefer new.

Well the problem with your comparison is the difference in the number of cars sold. Your right it's way too expensive but Jaguar parts sales are microscopic compared to GM and Ford. Plus there are hundreds of 1000+ HP GM and Fords out there and thousands of guys beating on them everyday. This exposes any design weakness's real quick!

There are zero 1000+ HP Jaguars so that tells you there is no market for HP axles. Plus we have no reports of anyone breaking axles at the track or on the street. There are custom CV axle shops that would make anything your willing to pay for.

I've read of at least two occurrences on these forums - I fully expect to snap one once I finally get around to fitting my built transmission and start pushing some serious hp. Planning on a bit of winter hibernation for the beast to achieve this.

I figure when it happens I'll just pay for a custom set that can handle the power. Can't be that much more expensive than OEM at this point 🤣

davetibbs with your car and it's mods I can believe it!! But we have a number of F-Types running 10 second 1/4 miles with no axle problems so extremely rare even when pushed.
Post back when you make those custom axles too.

the older dew98 cars had a butchered version of the 8.8, 28 splines on hub and carrier

the newer diff might still have the same count

here’s your center support. they changed the mounting flange for the 5.0 a little bit but it should still fit

xallty, Thank you for the information on the center support bearing! I appreciate everyone's feedback! So where I am at right now I am currently working with Individual Racing Parts to custom make a solid flex disk for better power transmission to the wheels. I can only imagine that after putting the solid disk in with my upper pulley, lower pulley and Viezu tune, I am bound to snap an axle... If not the 150HP shot of nitrous sitting in the corner of the shop may do the trick! I am currently having Driveshaft Shop quote custom axles with an 800HP rating. I have not had the car on a dyno yet but with a similar setup Racer 69 on YouTube is putting down 627HP at the wheels. Clubairth1, Yes I get my comparison was not very accurate due to the low volume of high HP Jags. But being in automotive manufacturing myself we are in the business of mass production. That is the only way to make money. So I had assumed GKN felt the same and may use the same axle in a different platform or something of that nature. But maybe custom cv axles are the way to go if they are cost efficient. Like I stated earlier there isn't anything special about these cv axles other than the Jaguar part number. So hopefully Driveshaft Shop can come through. Also I was curious, has anyone converted over to E85 yet?

Well again if you are really going to push that much power consider dumping the 2 piece drive shaft and putting a single shaft in. Hopefully carbon fiber or at least Aluminum? At a certain power level you will tear up the 2 piece shaft that's a given.
The CTS-V guys have long ago crossed that barrier so it might be useful to read their experiences first?

CTS-V Custom Drive Shaft

Also a quick call to a shop that specializes in this would be very useful as they may have built something close that would help with the price?
Drive Shaft Shop

This thread will help give you some perspective on how far behind Jaguar power is from US muscle cars? Note the shop that makes them guarantees them for 1500 Ft-LB of torque! But the comments all say the same thing. You will get more noise and vibration as that was the reason the factory went to the 2 piece drive shaft in the first place. Of course the car is now getting closer to a race car and not a street car. The price was $1400 and this was WAY back in 2012 too.

2 piece Driveshaft

How far do you want to go in that direction?
I drive a Jaguar because of the balance between a rough harsh performance car and a luxury cruiser. They built a pretty good compromise too!
