Default Boot latch stuck

Can anyone give me some advice please

I closed my boot and did not notice that a boot liner cloth was covering the locking latch. The slow close activated and boot kind of stopped locking process halfway through but enough for the catch to get wedged between the cloth. Now I can't lock the car as boot is showing as open and after 6 hours trying to pull boot open it's useless. So my only option is to remove the back seats to gain access to boot to see if I can release the catch. I've got the seat pad out but how do I remove the 60/40 parts just enough for me to crawl in.
Any help appreciated

the latch for the rear seat is on the top of the seat inside the trunk the only thing missing on some cars is the cable

Yes I realise that but I can't open the boot to get to it so I'm asking if anyone knows how to remove seats from inside cabin to access the boot so I can try to release catch.

I have read that you can get the backrest side bolsters off, so you can reach up to release the backrest catches!

can't see a way to get the side bolsters off without seats forward as there are catches to release that seat backs cover I believe.

You might be right, just what I have read!
The video below shows how to remove those side pieces, but not sure if this will help?

Just tried it on my car, you can get to those clips to release the bolsters with the backrest in situ, jam your fingers in near top of seat & lift up the catch!
Not sure if this will allow you to get to the rear seat backrest release catches??

Right I managed to get get the seats wedged up enough to get in boot and release the seats to fold down. I then removed them to get better access to boot. there was nothing trapped in the boot latch so confused now why boot is locked but says it's open and it will not open with the key or remote.
any ideas how to remove the latch from inside the boot so I can open boot to see what's going on ?
Cheers

I would try a thin piece of metal in the catch area, if your not sure how the catch anchors take a look at the bonnet catch as this has a simular operation.
I take it as there's nothing jammed in the lock you have tried the spare key to open the boot??
