Highest Mileage S/C Engines?
Hello! I've got a 2016 F-Type R, so I'm usually hanging out in the other forums. These only came out in 2014, but the engine design seems to date back to '09. I think the XF and XJ have had this engine since its inception.
I'm curious to know if there are some high mileage examples out there and how the engines have held up?
Cheers!
Stephen

mine isnt that high, but im at about 74k, just about time for my 75k service, and everything is going fine. No abnormal oil consumption, no weird noises or behavior.
There are issues with some people's waterpumps though, but I am not sure if that is mileage dependent or not.

You have a 2016 model 5.0L so it should have the latest 8mm timing chain setup which came out around the end of 2013.
The water pump is on it's 5th part number so be aware of it. It's not an expensive repair plus you should still be under warranty?
Do use the right oil as we have had a number of engine failures.

If you're talking to me...according to the service history, all oil changes were done at the dealer at intervals that are too long for my tastes. Now that I own the car, there will be DIY oil changes every 3-5k miles. I did the first one right after purchase in January (along with an oil pan gasket repair that the CPO warranty refused to cover) and its nearly time for another one.
Sorry yes!
Do you use the drain plug or suck it out?
Interesting as that's the first oil pan leak I have heard of.
I have a 2014 XJR so very interested in your experience.

The pan leak wasn't large enough to cause drips, just some wetness around the seams. It was a very straightforward job using the correct spec gasket. There are a few details in this thread:
