Default Brake upgrade

I have a 2005 XJ8L. What options do I have to upgrade the brakes to a high performance set?

It is possible to upgrade to the 380mm calipers from the later jaguars XFR/XKR the twin piston ATe calipers are a substancial upgrade 380 fronts and 376 rears, for a non brembo car its quite straight forward. There is good information on a few threads on here, inspiration for me to beging this upgrade to my own car an 03 Super V8, unfortunately i have the brembo set up so i needed the new uprights and carriers.

That's my confusion. I'm not sure if new spindles are required or not.
Does the brembo upgrade require new spindles? Can the ATE calipers be used with my existing spindles?

for a Brembo car you will need

Front uprights
Discs
Pads
Splashshields
Calipers
Brake hoses
Rear carriers
Caliper
Splashshields
Pads
Handbrake actuator

For a non brembo car you dont need the carriers/uprights.
As you have a 2005 car i believe you will be an easy swap.
there is some talk in the UK (where i am) about a software upgrade but i have not looked into it as i a bit off from that yet

So an 05, I believe you wil lhave 255mm ATE calipers on the front already, so to swap to the 380mm you will need the above sans uprights, it all bolts straight on.

2004 VDP...........do you know whats entailed to change my stock calipers for those off an XKR..........its an option ive looked at before as my local breaker regularly has at least 8 Jags in at any one time.......I call it my personal parts store......saves me owning a garage......lol.

Will my old wheels work or will I need to change them as well.....................
