Default Re-programming ECU

How long should it take to program the ECU with SDD software?

1 hour 40 min no screen change and now it won't start. Trying it all over as if new ECU.

Did you have a battery charger / power supply connected to the battery? If the voltage drops during programming you will have problems...

Last reflash I did took ~24mins of "programming, please wait"

with my mangoose clone, flash times seem to be 3 times the normal time.
After 40min flashing the tcm, I started to become real nervous... as I read other users to have flashed tcm within 15minutes.
As long you obd2-lights are blinking and the clock in SDD runs, the process seems alive.

For the health of their users, SDD programmers should add a progress bar when flashing..

2 hrs 12 min it took to complete.
Starts and runs great. Working on DDM now.
Thanks for all the help about waiting.

That's why it's better to use VCM or Mongoose Pro. Progress bar works fine with them and it takes a few minutes to flash.
BTW, yesterday i've bricked a ECM on STR, while i was trying to flash it with Mongoose. Rectification procedure didn't work, after i connected a VCM everything went fine It's a pretty common situation.

Whats a VCM?
I was able to reprogram the FEM and the DDM and they are working fine. Only thing I have now is a message saying 'CONFIG F' and the yellow and red lights continuously flash. What does CONFIG F mean, which module needs programming....

VCM is a Rotunda VCM, which was used by Jaguar, Ford&Mazda.
Flashing with mongoose is a matter of luck. You may succesfully flash 10 cars, but then, on a next car, you're stuck.
F is for FETM.

Re-configured the 'Generic Electronic Module' as 'SDD' called it and everything is back to where it was.
Thanks.....

Hello!

Need a little advice. I was flasing existing PCM and i took 1H 5 MIN and no screen change but clock was ticking. Progress bar did not show anything. As i understand it can take up to 2 h with mongoose? Now car wont start. Some time ago when i was flashing other modules like rem progress bar was working

The software is very very unlikely to be the cause and a reflash is not a wise plan.

Much more likely is every other item involved. Battery (car & possibly fob) #1.
