Power window issue from X300
Hoping to solve a problem with 1997 XJ6. Drivers power window doesn't work.
All other windows worked from master control switch so swapped out master switch with a another used one (can not verify if the replacement is OK).
Drivers window would go up with new switch but not down.
In the process of going back and forth with switches, the control of the left rear window stopped as well.
Now neither drivers front or left rear will work, up or down, with master switch.
Both motors check out OK.
"All (global) closed" feature with key in door only closes the functioning windows (the two passenger windows and sunroof).
Tried hard reset with battery disconnected for 15 mins. No luck.
How can I verify is master control switch is functioning properly or does this problem seem to be something else?

Previous owner had the starter jumped to a push button to start the car because the key, when turned to the start position, will not engage the starter. Any ideas on this problem? Would love to fix it and be able to start with the key. Have been searching the threads but can't find solution. Which relay can I swap to check starting relay? Assuming previous owned tried this before adding starting button but you never know.
Only other problem is driver's side power windows don't work. Fuses good and window motors work when jumped with hot wire. Tried a different master switch and driver's window, then would go down but not up then stopped any function after a while and left rear then stopped working. Now I can hear clicking only for window down in front and window up and down in rear.
Not sure if starter and windows are a related problem??
Thanks again

The window functions were intermittent for a week or two before they quit entirely....sort of like you are experiencing.

Problem solved. Drivers door wiring harness was bad.
Now having trouble getting the large plug that connects the door lock through the hole in door for the harness. Do I have to pull all the pins to get this plug to pass through or is there another trick to it. Any experience with this would be helpful.
