Default Another quick question- trick to disconnecting rear fuel line?

It’s the one a bit below and to the left of throttle cable.

im sing a write up that says it’s 1/2”.

the other one just popped right off (3/8”)

I even sprayed it and left it overnight. I still can’t get it separated. I have a bloody knuckle to prove it.

thanks so much!

Your going to need a skinnier and longer quick release. I use the cheap plastic ones as I got tired of losing the expensive ones.

Default I’m stupid

Harbor freight has $5 set, but I couldn’t get them to go over the line

the ones they had are more like a washer looking one.

with 10 minutes or stretching, I finally got it over the line, but it wouldn’t push in. Now it’s stuck lol.

harbor freight also has a $15 set for fords, figured that this cat is a ford, it should work.

like I said, the other popped right off, no trouble at all.

this one, however…

I’ll look at Amazon to see if they have one with a bigger handle?

TB finally off!

what about this gadget?

Randy, it really depends where I’m at. Sometimes I get them at NorthernTool or at one of the local auto parts stores.

That’s the set I use. It’s not the highest quality but it gets the job done.

Well, I tried that auto zone one. It wouldn’t remotely fit. I had to wait for them to open the door.

im almost wondering if these have been replaced.

the previous owner told me all the things he had replaced or upgraded, like the thermostat housing, idling chain etc. the fuel lines do look decent.

my 3/8” ford one finally got it. I took the longer as a handle, so used vise grips.

the bottom clip was stuck on it.

wasted some screwdrivers trying to bend them 75 degrees. They just snapped. Tried some precision ones, but they didn’t have enough oomph. Finally some kind of odd car trim tool was rigid enough yet flexible enough to bend at the weird angle and felt the clip move.

now to figure out where to pry the manifold off. I tried wiggling, but it’s on there.

Have you removed the screws to the throttle boy elbow?

It was just really really stuck.

I found a couple places to pry cautiously, which was just enough to let me wiggle it a bit more.

then I was able to actually get under it and pried a bit more forceful. It came up finally.

replaced the gaskets, everything seems fine now.

thanks all
