B Bank knock sensor

They are under the intake manifold, one for each cylinder bank.
They are relatively easy to get to, just remove the plastic "Jaguar 4.0" engine covers and with a flashlight peer down between the intake plenum. They are each bolted to the block with a single nut, and the electrical wires connect on either side of the thermostat housing.
They used to be available for around $30 bucks, but of late it is hard to find them for less than $90.00 Try Auto Zone or Rock Auto
THIS IS WHERE THEY ARE, BUT OF COURSE YOU DON'T HAVE TO REMOVE THE PLENUM TO GET TO THEM
THEY CAN BE SEEN AND ACCESSED WITH THE INTAKE PLENUM.IN PLACE...........
THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR LOCATION.............................
WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE............................

Here's a pdf, pgs 100-101... http://www.jagrepair.com/images/Trai...ual-9-5-01.pdf
But you need to make sure of which one you need first. Some screw onto an assembly (like in the pdf), some have a threaded post up through and a nut to hold them down (like the one CK is showing). Also be absolutely sure you properly torque them.

I forgot he had the '02 when I was looking up that pdf, ty....on mine I replaced them with the '04 4.2L ones from NAPA, got them for $62 ea. and they work the same. Mine is a SC though.
Here's an old thread from Jim Lombardi where he details his replacement and it gets into alternate ones to use later in the thread... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...t-1-2-a-76815/

Yes, and in that older thread of Jim Lombardi's the W0133-1655837 sensor he purchased for $27.95 is now $135.95 from the same supplier!
I replaced one of mine a year or so ago for $30, and thankfully bought a spare one...............it's really hard/impossible to find them at sensible prices now.
The cheapest I have seen lately has been $85, no tax, free shipping. The item is listed for a Jag V6 but they are the same sensor. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ignition-Kn...frcectupt=true
The options are....... (all of these work fine for the later AJ27s)
1) Duralast SU7012
2) Airtex 5S5619
3) Standard Motor Products KS309
4) Denso LNE1692AA
