The obvious being, check the bulbs & connections(be sure no corrosion or frayed wires).

I know this is an old thread but I seem to have run into an odd issue. The circuitry for the right brake lamp is okay - no shorts or breaks. I am still not getting any power from the right stop lamp pin on the SCLM even though I replaced the chip with the Mouser one. I opened up the SCLM again and resoldered the connections, checking continuity afterwards. Still no joy - 0 volts on the pin with the brake pedal depressed. I'm running power from the trailer connector to the right brake lamp to be legal. Has anyone experienced failures within the SCLM besides the driver chips?
I've had this car seven years and have put almost 100K on it since I bought it with 82K. It's been a good car -but somewhat tarnished by the craptastic components Jaguar used at the time. This is the first thing I've run into that I haven't been able to fix, yet.

The BPM (Body Processor Module) is also part of the control circuit for the tail lamp units.

Reports on the forum suggest it is a more frequent fail than the SLCM.

The tail lamps, yes, but the SLCM drives the brake lamps. I'm getting no RH brake output voltage at the SLCM. The other side works fine. I believe the BPM only monitors for bulb failure. The wiring and bulbs all check out.

Motorcarman -

read that thread and had arrived at the same conclusion. The only thing I can figure is I either screwed the chip up putting it on or something else is bad on the board. Found a place in Atlanta that'll rebuild it (closer to me and cheaper than the place in Idaho). I bought three of the chips for such a contingency of me screwing one up so I may try replacement again before I send it off. I do appreciate the input as sometimes two (or more) heads are better than one...
