window switches gone wacky
I had to repair my door release handle yesterday. Fortunately I found that a bicycle brake cable could be modified to work. After putting it all back together I found my drivers window did not work from the drivers door switches. All other windows worked fine. I took it apart today pulled and cleaned a couple connectors now the other windows don't work from the door panel but do from the individual door switches. The driver window now goes up and down but from the right rear window switch. I'm confused. I also broke the mount for the micro switches on the latch. This switch is now just hanging down. Door locks still worked yesterday but I didn't test today.

Did you disconnect the battery when you disassembled the door?????
Try a 'hard reset' to clear the SCP network.
This usually cures the door switchpack faults unless you got water into the switches.
I had to replace many after people got the windows tinted and the installer got water in the switchpack (damaged it).
I also replaced alot of them when people left the windows down and it rained.
Disconnecting electronics with the battery attached is not recommended.

thanks again for thread......I am assuming the re-set or reboot referred to just means dis-connecting the battery and than re-connecting......I don't think a broken wire is the culprit.....the switch is drawing amps when you hit it.....the rubber insulation inside and against the window is a bit frayed suggesting this was a problem before I got the car and was repaired when I bought it.....I will try the reset

Remove the negative cable from the battery and place it on the positive terminal of the battery with the positive cable still in place. This will drain any residual voltage or capacitance from the system. Go have a beer and then reattach the negative cable to the battery. This worked for me.
