Default XJ6 Series 2 Fuel Return Line

Has anyone figured how to successfully run a fuel return line in a series 2 XJ6 using the original tanks? Other than swapping for series 3 tanks I'm stumped. I was going to buy a complete series 3 for the tanks but maybe there's an easier way.

Thanks, that would be ideal but down here they want $900 each for those tanks. It's cheaper to buy a whole car and wreck it just for the tanks.

Is your series 2 XJ6 fuel injected or running carbies?
I have never encountered an Australian delivered S2 XJ6 with fuel injection.
More information please

The return is needed for an Injected Chevy 383 stroker in my series 2. Up to now it's been running a 350 with carbs.

This may be too obvious, but here's how I re-ran my pressure line. Both press/return on my non-Corvette LT1 attach on left rear of engine and the S3 injected engine had the return on that side and press on right side. I intercepted the press line in the boot and ran a new line up to the brake booster area.

If you were running a carb and the original S2 had carb's, you will need a higher pressure fuel pump(s).

Same colour as my car! Yes it has a high pressure pump. Being a series 2 there is no fuel return infrastructure to the tanks at all. My conundrum is A, how to do the return from scratch without changing to series 3 tanks if its at all possible and B, can I do it using one tank. The more i think about it its going to be easier to just buy a series 3 and strip out the tanks and return architecture. I just blank off the holes for the immersed pumps.

Jeff, your series 2 carb tanks should have a plugged return port beside the outlet. It may be small but on an sbc I'd probably run 'em. I can take pics if needed.
Also, this will prob be helpful whichever way you go... https://www.welshent.com/Fitment/Dai...nk-Adapter-Kit

Sorry, I'm confused on who the OP is. E61 needing help and has a series 2 carb car with internal low pressure pumps correct?
