Default Bailey channel, (door window felt runners) ?

My 1983 Jag XJS has pretty bad air leaks around the edges of the door windows at speed. The stock felt runners are out of stock now but I have found 2 places that sell this replacement. Steele Rubber and another Australian sight. These runners are sort of expensive but I do need them. Steele Rubber sells them for around $60 each for two 8 foot lengths and the Australian company offers them for about 8 bucks a foot.

I measured mine as far as width and depth goes but on is metric and the other inches. Both offered are the same shape that I need but I am not sure about the me measurements from my car as they are old and mostly brittle.

Has anyone ever bought aftermarket and found the size that is correct for the XJS window runners? If I had a spare channel to cut up I would send both companies those and a sample of my felt but no to the spare metal runners. I may just have to send a piece of the felt runner but I know they would prefer the metal portion to see how there pieces fit.

Any help?

Thanks

Russ

I bought genuine Jaguar and they were over an inch too long. I ended up having to cut and join them at the top.

If you buy just the channel section you can cut and join them yourself.

Warren. Hi. Where did you get your your felt window runners from. I'm in the process of fixing these and the exterior window strips. They are both hard to find. Cheers

There are many UK suppliers at sensible prices eg:

Greg. I'll see if I can source some in Australia first then go overseas. Cheers for your help.

Greg have you any suggestions for the rubber that fits along the top of the door and against the window. I bought some non Oe off e bay and the fit is poor.

Brinny, I have not, but I have often got decent quality stuff from these people, maybe they have something suitable?
