Default Headlamp Washers Not Working

Good evening everybody (it's evening here...

The headlamp washers are not working in my '07 X150 (18K miles). The pump runs perfectly on the bench, but not on the car.

I'm wondering where to start fiddling with it first. Is there by any chance a relay, in the Power Distribution Box, which is the last component in the circuit before the pump itself? If so, can anyone tell me how to get at said Power Distribution Box? I can't find it in the Workshop Manual...

There is a powerwash relay in the FSJB power distribution R11. Fuse F04 (30A) FSJB is in the engine bay rear corner on your model. If you open the bonnet, it should be near the bonnet release up near the firewall.

That's great information, thank you. Do you know how I get to the FSJB, where it is located in the car?

How are you at reading wiring diagrams?

Download it here (free)

Search "powerwash" and you should see it.

I'm a spannerman, not an electrician, but I can usually manage, and I think you've given me all I need - for now at least.

One question, though. My screen washers work perfectly; I presume/hope they take power from a different relay?

The lamp washers only fire every five or so squirts on the windshield. Just a FYI.

I don't even get the initial squirt when I try to use them the first time. I'm hoping it's just the fuse or relay...

OK, I reckon can find the Power Distribution Box, and Fuse 04, no problem. Is it apparent which is the headlamp washer relay once I get in there?

They should have the relay named (probably abbreviated) and the relay number. I believe the relay numbers are embossed on the box but not 100% certain. Sorry, I've never been in my FSJB and I've never found a relay schematic, just the fuse schematic.
