Default Leather headliner in coupe - detailed pictures needed :)

Hi Everyone!

I have a kind request to XKR-S (and other fully loaded X150) owners. I'm looking for a detailed pictures of a leather headliner (and pillar / upper trims holding it). What i'd really like to know are approximate sizes and plan of stitching. I would be really grateful if someone find some time to take a couple of pictures (ideally with a measure tape) so that I can draw a scheme (more detailed than a one below ). I have OEM leather rear upper panels (over the rear seats and luggage compartment) - so I already have a feeling. But need more details, especially regarding sizes and stitching.

You can probably guess what's in my mind right now

Thanks Jeremy! I know both topics. Gone through them very carefully. But it's impossible to create a scheme of a leather headliner based on them.

I would be grateful if any of XKR-S owners spend couple of minutes on taking pictures of his/her car's interior.

Did you consider contacting the member who changed his to suede? I think he was going to sell or bin his Poltrona Frau headliner.

I contacted him (so far no answer). But I will do it from scratch anyway. If I buy his headliner I still need to buy 4 trims for around 1k USD. Otherwise I will not match with original color.

In this case - I prefer sacrificing my two rear panels (and use them to find the closest possible leather and thread for stitching) and buy new leather to make the whole set from scratch. But need to find directional guidance regarding how it looks

And yes, I know that sun visors are suede and leather.

Most of the XKR-S headliners fell off already and have been thrown away. Mine included. Replaced with microfiber.

Local custom work will last forever
But definitely I need to take care of using best adhesive possible.

But still hoping that there are people having it (in any shape ), to take a couple of pictures.

Ha, found something. Might be helpful for the next generations. Still would love to get a few pics with a measuring tape. But good enough to go.

You've obviously made up your mind but personally I think this is an opportunity to go custom rather than copy something rather unremarkable to begin with...

Have a look at Aston Martin leather headliners, some are quite brilliant.

Do you have any examples in your mind, that I should look at?

In general I'm trying to be as much OEM as possible. But... Never say never

I am in agreeance with Jahummer.....
If you're going through the trouble and expense, make it LOOK the part (troublesome and expensive) and do something grand!
Do you want people to say "oh, uh, yeah...... that's, uh, nice" when you show them your custom expensive headliner?
Wouldn't "Holy Crap! That's perfect! I want one!!!" be a better response???

Gents, I hear you. But I don't want to make headliner which will stand out. It must fit to a red stitching XKRS interior (with carbon insets).

Don't want to have diamond stitching or anything else which don't talk to other elements of an interior.

Open to suggestions, because yes everything will be made from scratch (based on existing roof/headliner elements). But only down to Jag reality ideas will be considered

I agree there’s no need to go over the top, but, no offense to stock interiors, as CeeJay said it’s a bit of expense and effort either way so why not make something reserved but unique...you have so many opportunities here. I cited Aston as an example because they offer a large variety of bespoke interiors and I’ve seen some subtle bit striking examples. Have a look on google Aston leather headliners maybe even StarTech.
