Default Pedal covers

I originally posted this thread on the XJ (X351) forum, and thought you XK/XKR owners would find this to be of interest so I decided to add it here. I have a custom "R" footrest that matches the OEM pedal covers on my 2009 XKR Portfolio Convertible and wanted to do something similar on my newly-acquired 2013 XJ 5.0 SC. What I found blew me away! Read on...

Although my original post applied to the XJ, as explained below, the pedal covers I bought on eBay also fit the XK/XKR 4.2L and 5.0L models. Here's a copy of my XJ thread:

From the Jaguar USA Accessories catalog: Sport Pedal Covers $149.75

"Made from stainless steel and rubber, the pedal kit fits securely over existing pedals for a contemporary, sporting appearance."
RHD - C2D8416 MSRP: $149.75 available online for less
LHD - C2D8415
NOTE: THERE IS NO FOOTREST/DEAD PEDAL!

From the Mina Gallery catalog: $159.00 Jaguar XJ & XJR Sport Alloy Pedal Upgrade 3pcs kit - Mina Gallery Inc

"Aluminum pedals kit for the Jaguar XJ8 & XJR (Mina Gallery or R center emblem) 2004-2009 models." $159.00 including the footrest/dead pedal. I'm not sure if they offer pedal covers for 2011-up X351 models.

LAST, BUT NOT LEAST: HERE'S WHAT I DID:
BEFORE

AFTER:

Cost $26.80 for all 3 aluminum/rubber pedal covers engraved with JAGUAR and the Leaper logo, from China and worth the wait! I couldn't believe how nice they were when I opened the package - they exceeded my expectations! I expected junk at that price but got heavy duty aluminum with separate thick rubber backing and all screws, fasteners, and tools needed for DIY installation (except a power drill and bits). It took me less than 30 minutes to install everything. Simply line up the covers over the pedals (you don't have to remove them), drill the holes, and bolt them on to the accelerator and brake pedals. The footrest/dead pedal simply screws through the carpet and into the floor with self-tapping screws. I didn't hit anything underneath.

Available on eBay: At Fuel Brake Foot Rest Pedals Sport for Jaguar Foot Pedals | eBay

I have no interest in this vendor; just bringing these pedal covers to your attention because I believe they are a great deal!

Stuart,

What is they say about minds that think alike?? I installed my set on Monday. You must be much younger than me. Took me :30 minutes just to stuff my body into the footwell.

FYI: Hate them, don't think anybody else should do this mod. Stuart and I will have to suffer the indignity of being the only two having these brushed aluminum pedals. Haaaaa!

Default Chrome OEM Jaguar Dead Pedal / Footrest

jagtoes,

Jaguar offers just what you're looking for. See page 19 of the OEM Jaguar F-Type Accessories Brochure: http://www.jaguarusa.com/Images/5-22...cm97-36307.pdf Thumbnail below.

Part# T2R11322 is the footrest only. Although marketed as an F-Type accessory, I think it will fit all current models. List price is $189.30, but it's available online for $153.80 from Gaudin Jaguar and other vendors: Direct JPLV Porsche Parts.com You might be able to find it for less.

MSRP Jaguar OEM Stainless Steel Pedal Kit ($149.75) plus Footrest ($189.30), total $339.05. Compare that cost to the set of 3 I just bought from China for $26.80, delivered.

I understand your desire to match the OEM pedals that came with your car and would probably splurge and buy the OEM footrest. But since my XJ came with no pedal covers, the set from China was a super deal and perfect for my needs.

I had ordered a set a couple of weeks back and just received it. Based on price I was not expecting anything overly decent. But, I have to say that they are pretty nice and seem of good quality. I have not installed the set yet but am thinking that I will try to install the foot rest with 2 way velcro. (The type that has the peel and stick backing)….. I'll see how it works out. Don't really want to drill into the floor area unless I really have to.

I installed my dead pedal with industrial strength velcro, and it holds great never moves. It will work fine. No drilling required.

I used 4" wide velcro. You can buy it on eBay.

Default XKR Portfolio Pedal Covers

2009 XKR Portfolio models came from the factory with stainless steel covers for the accelerator and brake pedals. (I don't know if the 2008 XKR Portfolio was identical). Because the factory did not include a footrest/dead pedal cover, I had mine custom made from aluminum with the "R" logo to match the OEM design:

Subsequently, another less costly choice became available:

For details, see: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-spain-116999/

These are the best bang for the buck:

Stuart:

Did you replace the custom "dead pedal" with the "R" logo with the new "Jaguar" set purchased via eBay?

If so, do you have any photos of the new set mounted in your 2009 XKR?

I might have an interest in replacing mine.

Thanks for finding these.
The eBay ones currently don't show a Jaguar logo, and are about a buck more, so I ordered these from Amazon.

Richard,
I installed the "new" set in my XJ, as I explained in my post #1. My XKR still has the OEM pedal covers and custom "R" logo dead pedal. I wouldn't change a thing.

Just did this exact same thing in the XFR. Thanks for the tip, they turned out great and if I decide I don't like them I can simply remove them. Only the accelerator pedal holes will be visible.

How do they attach? Screw into the existing rubber pedal, or does that have to be removed and the steel pedal drilled for screws?
Thanks
