Default Convertible top drip

Apparently this is a unusual issue for the X100 convertible but I have a leak. Actually, its a slow drip, (1 hz), but it's enough to wet the gunwale carpet beneath the drip and it is present on both sides. The drip emanates from the top edge of the door glass in the area of the first fold joint of the top frame. Examination of the seals reveals that the seals are in excellent condition overall with no apparent damage or degeneration. The area where the seals join, in the area of the leak appear normal and in good condition as well.

The window to seal contact appears firm.

This leak occurs with any consistent rain and does not require a deluge.

I must be missing something?

I would condition the rubber seals with SylGlide or a similar product. If you cannot spot the leak, that may be all you need to do in order to stop it.....

The drip comes from just forward of this joint.

As noted above, the seals appear flawless.

The reset process appears to work as designed. The seal seems firm, as demonstrated by a paper-pull test.

I may have discovered the reason for the leaks. There is a narrow lip component to the outboard aspect of the rubber roof-to-window seal. This narrow lip appears designed to cover and seal the outer aspect of the metal roof frame. On mine, this lip was partially folded under the frame causing a buckle in that lip that might have compromised the water seal.
I have unfolded this rubber lip and touched it with a bit of heatgun after which it appears to be laying flat again.
We shall see how it goes next rain... 🤪

The "clean and treat" process has done the trick. I washed down all of the rubber seals on the convertible roof frame and on the door using a solution of water, dish soap (detergent) and isopropyl alcohol. I was amazed at the amount of "black stuff" that was lifted!
I then treated the seals with a "rubber seal conditioner" made by "3 In One".

No more leaks.
