Default keys in trunk, battery disconnected 2001 xk8 convert

OK.....looks like a perfect storm here
I disconnected my battery and then proceeded to lock my keys in the trunk.
Any ideas?
Any good way to cut and get inside????
This is a bummer
Does anyone know where the trunk latch actuater is located?
I am thinking if I can get access to the solenoid all I would have to do is power it or pull the cable or something.
Assuming I will have to cut into the bodywork somewhere.......

Well that sucks to say the least. As a locksmith I would say call a locksmith. You may be able to power the car up from under the hood passenger side under the cover near the windshield. I've jump started my car that way.

You can also power it up from the cable from the alternator as that cable ultimately goes to the battery B+.
Someone posted they were able to get the trunk open through the gas filler grommet but with no power it may be hard to get that open also.

Otherwise it may be time for one of these:

If the car doors are unlocked, release the Hood (Bonnet) and connect a jumper cable as shown and use the Trunk Open button on the Dash.

Trunk will release without Key (unless it was in Valet Mode).

Don't attempt to start Engine until Battery is re-connected.

OK.....could not use the under the hood connections as the disconnected battery cable was grounded laying against metal.......big spark when trying to connect.
I cut a hole in the lower passenger side trunk area and was able to get my hand on top of the battery and connect the positive lead.
Yea!!!!! trunk opened......but the computer seems to be wacky and now the car wont start. When I hit the door open button the locks cycle a few times......so something is goofy.
I am going to fully charge/check the battery so as to take care of the obvious stuff as I have heard a battery can mess with the computer.
Will try it again tomorrow, but this was sure better than cutting a hole in the trunk!
Hope I did not fry the computer.....sigh
Thanks everyone for your help!!!!!!!

Good for you and good luck with the control modules as you have now shorted the system when you tried to jump it from under the hood. I hope you get lucky with this.

I think I would have called a locksmith but hind site is always 20/20.

When I read this, I thought "how could anyone be so dumb!" and then the very next day locked my keys in the trunk after showing a friend how clean my trunk was. Fortunately I was lucky as well as dumb, as the top was down so I just pushed the button. I was 300 KM from home and the spare keys, by the way.

This might be a suitable time to resurrect this as a stopgap until WhiteXKR gets his version in production!

That is a pretty clever idea.....makes sense.
I wonder if you can "wire in" to the trunk latch solenoid and have a couple of hidden termanals and hit it with 12v outside the car?
Anybody know where the solenoid is?
