Had a flatbed pick up Kitty and take her to Erwin Swartz in St, Louis. They are not a Jag dealer but specialize in repairing RollsRoyce, Mercedes, and Jag. They offer 1yr parts and labor on their work.Kitty went to the Vet today-image.jpg

I never like to see a Jaguar traveling like that!

Is it going to the Indy to resolve the starting issues and do a transmission fluid change?

Yes, they will resolve the hard starting issue also....after I crawled underneath and scoped out the job IF its the fuel pump..I decided that it wasn't in my best interest to do it myself. Especially when I read another users experience where he had 3 or 4 fuel pumps replaced. He's going to give her a complete check up including engine and trans oil change.

It's going to be expensive but you'll get a reliable vehicle back.

The 2 foot of snow in front of your garage must have gone!

Default Reliability

There's lot's to be said about reliability.....can't really enjoy a vehicle if you're uncertain about it getting you where you want to go.....Zen and the Art of Jaguar Maintenance. This shop charges $95.00/hour which is at least half of what the Jag dealer charges. Local shops charge $85.00/hr and quoted about the same price for a fuel pump change. Although I enjoy working on my vehicles, I work 10-12 hrs a day and just don't have time to do the maintenance. AND when I am off of work I want to be able to drive her not work on her. Thanks for your support !!!!!

Default Snow

Wish I could say the snow has gone. I think I going to have to wait another two or three weeks.

Default Kitty not back yet......

Well, I was hoping to get kitty back today but it didn't happen.....
so I decided to let them keep it longer and replace the hydraulic hoses. They said the fuel pump housing was cracked. Which verifies the feeling I got on the trip home when I hit the Ice patch pot hole at 70 mph. It rattled my teeth I hit it so hard and I thought oh sh I hope I didn't screw any thing up......so here's how it adds up:
-fuel pump replaced
-tranny flushed
-engine oil changed
-drivers srs fixed and headrest repaired
-hoses replaced
-firmware updated
-full check up and inspection
=$3200 including tax
=empty wallet

I feel your $$ pain. I've had all that done plus much more. Didnt hurt quite so much as it was done over 1 year in 300-900.00 hits. Now power steering leak, another 350.00. The only other issue we can see is a very small drip at the rear main oil seal. But it's very small and I'm not ready to deal with it.
At least your flatbed driver didn't crunch your front end. When my fuel pump went, they sent an"expert" driver out to haul it and even though I warned my front body kit was too low too pull up the bed without more wood, he swore it would be fine, even as I yelled STOP while I watched the chain crush my spoiler. And now they refuse to pay for damage!!
